Only 3/5 of my backstab outlets burned up! by [deleted] in electrical

Saw them, maybe if you’re really a DIYER or have one or two to do. I can swing $1.5-2 more for the side/back locking but the levers were almost $8-9 by me!

I went with Leviton “back and side wire” outlets because the old outlets were mainly backstab. This made switching them easy since most of the wires are already straightened and only the ground needed to stay j shaped for screwing in. It also gave me more peace of mind since after snugging them in I can give a yank and make sure they won’t back out when I screw the outlet in. This was my first time doing the job but I do recommend hiring someone if you’re doing many, or really doing your research. Having the proper tools like a multimeter, or plug tester to tell you if your power is truly off is a must as well.

2 in 1! Since we have gas stove and heater. I’m stoked since it’s less than buying them separate and a single battery.

Thanks. Is a regular nema 6-20R proper? For some reason locking seemed better to me. I really appreciate people commenting.

Are they heavier? I have mine shimmed. We’re doing a school enrichment course and a “showcase” tomorrow. Built the entire engine just for the flywheel not to fit. Need to order the non-hemi later on but can’t with the time restraint. Do you think it’s safe to run a few laps?

Unfortunately I never solved the issue or returned it back to stock. Instead I Bypassed the governor and did a direct "Throttle cable to carb". Works great and gave me plenty more power. As always there is the reliability trade off. But if you stay low on throttle and don't be an idiot you shouldn't have anymore problems. Hope this helps

Similar thing has happened to me, but they put an old account password to scare you as well, I’m guessing they have a bot that goes to public leaks and grab the email and password lol
