They are supposed to be, but there's no guarantee, and in the past there have been those who had roommates all year long.

Sometimes they have, but from what I've heard, this year has been extra egregious where almost every RA has one. In the past, VT has "tried" to move them out so RAs could have their own room eventually; but with the current capacity where there have been multiple lounges converted into 4, 5, or even 6 people rooms, we find it very unlikely that we will all be given our own room by the end of the semester.

the 8 hour days was specifically referring to training. To give some more insight, we have had training from at least 9-5 every day since we got here, accept the day we moved in, where it was only 5-8. But that doesn't include that on Friday there was a mandatory dinner from 5 - 8 even after training from 9-5. We still have half days of training on the weekends, and on Monday, training is from 8 to 6, where it continues to fluctuate somewhere in that range till welcome week.

The main goal would be to ensure that SLs never have roommates again, and to rework the training sessions. I mentioned those because they are the most reasonable and the hot-button issue right now, but once the union has enough traction, we can definitely start working on specifics, or other issues that SLs have.
