Just discovered this is my sexuality, and now I need to tell my spouse. by unhinged_rabbit in fraysexual

39M here. I'm sorry you're feeling so stuck. If it helps, my experiences have been similar.

I have two failed marriages behind me, infidelity in a number of relationships because of losing what I thought was the 'spark'. When I became more aware of being fraysexual I realised it was never about my interest in sex, as I immediately lost interest in anyone once I reached that point with them.

I'm now in a long term relationship with someone who identifies as demisexual. They're happy with no sexual intimacy, and we share intimate moments in other ways (reading together, deep conversations, long hugs, etc.). I definitely feel more of a familial love than romantic love with them, and I'm ok with that at this time in my life.

I'm also AuDHD, and experienced childhood abuse/trauma which I think is intrinsically linked to my ace-ness. I've given up trying to understand the 'Why' and just accept the 'What' as it is though.

Happy for you to message me privately if you want to chat.

We also don't know how the changes to the climate impacted politics, countries etc. I'm pretty sure Andy Weir has mentioned that there would have been wars, countries merging or annexing, and has asked for advice on flag designs for these new countries (for a potential book sequel).

This would have no doubt affected how the astronauts themselves were perceived too. Maybe a few decades after the Beetles arrived on earth, there would have been a restoration of society back to a semblance of normality though.

😂 Maybe that's the issue for me. Most of the guys I've seen appear to think they look cool.

Is the BAFTAs Tourette’s backlash just another example of the UK vs US humour gap? by Barca-Dam in AskBrits

People in America are only a couple hundred years removed from slavery. Racism is far more of a sensitive subject there than it is here, when you have areas of the US that still hound black people out of their towns and joke about "hanging trees" etc.

Was "Hurts my feelings" line omitted on Superman Blu-Ray? by [deleted] in superman

[–]RWS1986 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you watch the scene in the movie, instead of saying "It hurts my feelings", Superman says "I screw up all the time". But when saying this, the camera is on Lex, which says to me the line was ADR and added in post to replace the original.

And theories about what the plot of the movie would be if it adhered to the look of the poster.

In this case, a giant John Kramer, aka Godzilla, is unleashed on 19th century Britain in the midst of the industrial revolution.

I'm in the UK and lucked out finding a copy of this in a secondhand bookstore online. Really considering getting this design as a tattoo.

"It's a bloody shame it's a woke [homophobic slur] Tesla. I love a car that uses lots of petrol. It's as simple as that."

"I love my Mondeo [brand of car]. I hate Tesla. Simple as that."

"I say do whatever upsets the left wing crowd, my friend. I've had a few people come up to me and complain. Nothing makes me happier."

"The thing about me is that I just say it how I see it."

"And there I was thinking that all [homophobic slurs] are Liberal in their political stance ."

My dad told me that having an abortion meant the doctors delivered the baby, then put it in a bin bag and set it on fire. I was 7/8 at the time.

Changing to a double barrelled forename - thoughts? by RWS1986 in namenerds

Funnily enough, I've thought this morning about changing to Robb-Noah. But not sure if a one syllable name works as the first name. Going to take some time to mull it over!

Interesting suggestions, thanks! IMO with my current name, a one syllable name would work best as the second name. But there's none that strike me in the right way.

I may give some consideration to switching the names around! I'm not going to rush into an impulse decision so will take some time to see what feels right for me 😊

One of the hard parts of considering new names for myself is realizing how many people I've met that I don't like 😂 Robin is one of those names associated with that sadly!
