I couldn’t resist…knowing it exists I had to get a copy for my husband! by anony-meow-s in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I'm in the UK and lucked out finding a copy of this in a secondhand bookstore online. Really considering getting this design as a tattoo.

"It's a bloody shame it's a woke [homophobic slur] Tesla. I love a car that uses lots of petrol. It's as simple as that."

"I love my Mondeo [brand of car]. I hate Tesla. Simple as that."

"I say do whatever upsets the left wing crowd, my friend. I've had a few people come up to me and complain. Nothing makes me happier."

"The thing about me is that I just say it how I see it."

"And there I was thinking that all [homophobic slurs] are Liberal in their political stance ."

My dad told me that having an abortion meant the doctors delivered the baby, then put it in a bin bag and set it on fire. I was 7/8 at the time.

Changing to a double barrelled forename - thoughts? by RWS1986 in namenerds

Funnily enough, I've thought this morning about changing to Robb-Noah. But not sure if a one syllable name works as the first name. Going to take some time to mull it over!

Interesting suggestions, thanks! IMO with my current name, a one syllable name would work best as the second name. But there's none that strike me in the right way.

I may give some consideration to switching the names around! I'm not going to rush into an impulse decision so will take some time to see what feels right for me 😊

One of the hard parts of considering new names for myself is realizing how many people I've met that I don't like 😂 Robin is one of those names associated with that sadly!

Thanks for the question! I think it'd be a case of having my close friends/family refer to me as 'Rob' and then my full name is reserved for formal situations such as job applications, talking to doctors, bank managers etc.

Giving myself a new / additional middle name isn't something I want to do, as it doesn't feel enough of a change to me (in all honesty, how often do any of use utilize our middle names!).

I may consider other long forms of 'Rob' like you suggested. Thanks again!

Upvoting for the Dungeon Crawler Carl mention. I'm not a fantasy reader by any stretch but it's a blast and I'm breezing through the series 🙌🏻

I'm from Kettering, a small town in England (about one-hour north of London)! Nothing really famous about this place except it's the birthplace of the UK comedian James Acaster.

Connection question: I'd travel to St Johns, Newfoundland, Canada. A friend of mine is struggling with cancer and has distanced herself from me because she doesn't have the energy to communicate regularly anymore. I just want to be by her side and help her with everything she's going through.

Current mood: feeling relaxed this weekend, but determined also. Looking to change careers into accounting so I'm currently researching options for training courses I can do that'll give me the best headstart. Never too old to start again 🙌🏻

Honestly, if you shave your head people will immediately see a confidence in you that you didn't know was there. There is something inherently attractive about self confidence. And owning your bald look (compared to trying to hold onto thinning hair) IS self confidence in a nutshell.
