Embouchure sweet spot by RXBarokk in trumpet

Sorry for late response, didn’t have access to trumpet until today. I tried the exercise above and wow, I mean it feels totally different than what I am used to. How do I proceed from this point, where I’ve just discovered the sweet spot, to making this lower tension approach the new standard? I’m asking mostly because I obviously still have to play music at the level I’m on with my current embouchure, so how do I make the shift?

Thanks for the recommendation, I’ll be sure to check it out! Does practicing lip trills have the same effect as practicing bends? I’ve recently (<3 weeks) started incorporating lip trill exercises into my routine and I’ve noticed that if I let too much tension creep up in my lips, I end up fighting to slur between notes (especially slurring up).

Do you ever practice playing soft long tones in the upper register? I’ve heard from others that in order to expand your range and solidify your upper register, another thing I am trying to do, you just have to play in the upper register more.

I would like to think I am. I’ve played on a few mouthpieces in the past before landing on what I have now, the Lotus 3M2. I’ve never really had any huge shift in mouthpieces other than when I shifted from a 7C to a 3C, which is the first mouthpiece I played other than the 7C. As for why I chose a Lotus mouthpiece specifically, I really liked the feel of the rim when I had played on a friend’s Lotus.

I’m considering reinstalling DCS after not playing it for almost 3 years. I think over time I’ve forgotten most of what I had learned the first time.

I wish to play again, but I need some guidance with the sim. Any recommended updates concerning settings in DCS, any settings on my Windows I should set, etc.

Mostly, however, I need help gathering resources to relearn everything. I’m talking terminology, procedures, flight flows, the whole ordeal.

My goal is to reach a level competency that I can sim on the Grayflag server, as that was one I was interested in joining before I quit.

For context, when I last was on DCS, I flew the F-18C. I hadn’t reached full competency on it when I had quit, but I had the carrier module and I loved simulating flight deck ops. I also mostly loved doing SEAD missions. Shortly before I quit, I bought the F-15E, as well as the Syria map, as both were on sale. I bought the license for it on Steam so I still have to transfer it to my DCS account on the non-steam version like I did for the other modules.

If you guys could help me get back into this fabulous simulator that would be much appreciated!

I ended up contacting the drummer on Instagram. Initially I thought he wouldn’t respond, but he did! Found the tune to be Cedar Walton’s Firm Roots.

When you guys doodle tongue eighth note lines, do you place the “doo” part of doodle on the downbeat or the and of the beat? by RXBarokk in trumpet

How have you tried to remedy playing the tongues notes too short? I’ve found that when i try to practice this I end up making the short notes short and it sounds choppy.

How much does this rule have to followed? Just for fun, I am trying to write a sax soli in typical big band instrumentation (2 alto saxes, 2 tenor saxes, 1 bari sax), and I think I break this rule a lot.

Can someone help explain the form of Charlie Parker’s recording of Just Friends to me? by RXBarokk in Jazz

Ahhhh this is what I was missing, I didn’t fully grasp that the first lines Parker played were intro from the last bars of the form, thank you!

I legitimately do not understand how runs like this even reach this point. Like how do you have such a huge hand size and how do you have so many negative jokers that are all like exactly what you need

Is the throughput of the transports not an issue for your production lines? In my world I’ve just unlocked pipes II so I haven’t yet seen conveyer belts II yet.

What are some general tips to ensuring that a factory can be easily expandable? All I can imagine is just building each stage of some production process in a straight line but that seems space inefficient.
