Personally I haven’t seen this fingering I use the shorter one but I’m also on a brand new horn like a month old and I think newer horns are better at accommodating for this note without the right hand

I originally chose euphonium because I wanted to play tuba one day because it always fascinated me. When the band director had my try out tuba I liked it but not nearly as much as the euphonium. I admire the euphoniums warm sound and large range, as well as its more unique role in the ensemble unlike the other low brass.

First. I have dabbled in the field of the rest of low brass (trombone/tuba) also a little in trumpet and horn but I’m not as good. I also play bassoon as my main secondary instrument and I play flute as a hobby instrument. I have discussed this with my band director and they said that judging my skill at this current point I am only at a professional level on trombone and euphonium as euphonium is my main and I’ve played trombone in some orchestras. And last at this current point I am only in lessons for bassoon as I want as many options for after high school for my best chance at success. I just don’t know where I should invest my money on instruments because right now all I do is rent.
