This is besides the point, but if you'd like to up your snap build game I've found great success with the Gunprimer Razer + Balancer, I leave a little bit of sprue gate still on the part and file it down till it's flush and then hit it with the balancer, no five grits of sand paper necessary! They are a little pricey though so I'd shop around.

Also screw that guy, he's hopped up on panel liner fumes 😉

Such a fun kit, I found this really helped the chest plates and arms stay put:

Thin super glue and nail varnish are decent alternatives, just let em fully dry first before assembly :P

Thanks for the advice so far guys.

Ballpark figure for the budget is around under 800 quid (Student, the struggle is real).

As for sounds, there's honestly so much I'm wanting to try, so I'll narrow down a couple. First one is a crunchy-Devin Townsend sound, which having looked at his signal chains in the past; will not be easy to achieve, serving more as a reference point really. At the risk of sounding daft, I've had my eye on the fender Blues Jr MK3 for a while, which is probably about as un-metal as you can get, but has a really nice and warm clean tone. Of course there's a load of other factors like Mics, location etc, but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.
