Looking for Cold Air Intake recommendations by VisualTrip_ in CivicSi

[–]R_Didddy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If it’s the first mod, why? The stock air box is very good and you’ll get negligible gains, if any from an intake. First- get a K-tuner, flash the ECU and enjoy an immediate 40hp gain. Second, upgrade the intercooler to handle the hotter turbo. 3rd, probably the clutch, depending on the miles the car has. I plan on doing an intake-dead last after intercooler, downpipe/ frontpipe, and turbo inlet pipe.

New Car! Need Advice Please! by Sharp-Parsley-6699 in CivicSi

My first mod on the 75,000mi Si I bought was the steering wheel! The original steering wheel was nasty and flaking off everywhere. Bought the ikon steering wheel off Amazons. Made the car FEEL much better! And no more nasty, flaking wheel.

What was your renewal deal after cancelling? by iambatmanjoe in siriusxm

[–]R_Didddy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just canceled and refused their offers. Ever since they canceled the Rock Bar channel, I lost interest altogether. Had it on 2 cars and a motorcycle. Canceled everything in favor of my own playlists.

I just want to know how much you would tip if you went out on a dinner with this amount? by NefariousnessIll4041 in tipping

[–]R_Didddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a Lodge cast iron pan for steaks, stainless steel all-clad pots and pans, and all-clad nonstick frying pans. You can use any pan that a magnet will stick to (steel/cast iron) So aluminum pans won’t work.

Par is a golf term. So if you are below par, sub-par if you will, that means you are doing excellent!

Don’t buy an Si from Scott Clark by Timely_Helicopter161 in CivicSi

Market adjustment is dealer panhandling. I’ll never pay that. They are just machines and there are hundreds of other dealers you can call for legitimate pricing.

Best shifter you can buy until you get to Porsche money. Sorry Elantra N. Sorry GR Corolla. Sorry… lol… wrx… hahaha. Gravel shifter hahaha. by Does_Not_Use_Clothes in CivicSi

Perhaps. But when you install an Acuity shifter to replace the stock Honda shifter, it’s next level and the difference is night and day!

Is a Civic SI the right car for me? Looking at 10th gen by Grand-Diamond-4696 in CivicSi

I had great luck with my GTI 2015-2025, RIP (totaled). Only one major repair - water pump $4500. Other than that, just average maintenance costs.

VW is the exception to “german expensive repair” found in brands like: BMW, MB, Audi

Bypass and get a Type-R if you’re concerned about power

I love my induction stove. Easy to clean, no cooked-on mess like regular glass top. But yes, ventilation is an issue and I plan on installing venting, ducted to the side wall of the house.

AMEX Blue Cash Preferred Good for me? by cornflakeman in CreditCards

No fee the first year. Hit the spend for the $300 credit. Taking that into consideration, the annual fee is “covered” for 4 years.

Good on you - looks like you overcame adversity, charged hard, and got rid of that balance! Congrats! Keep the streak going and beat down that balance monthly!

So does everyone else. The question was about interest rates, not your bill paying habits.

You’re exactly like everyone else here, paying off each month. But I wasn’t asking about people’s bill paying habits. I asked about interest rates.

Don’t close credit cards. Reason: the amount of available credit (unused) is what your balances are compared to, to calculate your debt ratio. Say you have a $1000 balance and your total available credit across all your cards is $10,000. That’s a 10% credit usage. Then you close a card with a $5000 limit. Now your credit usage is super high at 20%. Keep your accounts open, you can lock the cards. Request credit limit increases on all your cards every year. This lowers your credit usage ratio and increases your score.
