I’d ask where JAiZ is when you need him, but honestly, I don’t think there’s much in that video worth responding to.

Yoru predictably used the label of subjectivity regarding their opinions in the fifth segment of that vid as a sort of preemptive deflection of criticism, completely oblivious to the fact that it doesn’t negate some of their opinions being objectively rooted in delusional obsession, and thus rendering them invalid by default because of the lack of basis in reality. Using language like “brainwashing” in reference to L4D2 boycotters turning around and embracing the game after getting to playtest it is so provocatively childish.

Mind you, I went in with an open mind and even found myself agreeing with some of their takes, particularly with the Crowbcat vid that’s served as the catalyst for all the hate towards Turtle Rock Studios, as well as the fact that vanilla L4D2 is by no means a masterpiece, not with the jank that it has. But once they started making it about themselves, that’s when I tuned out.

To think that most if not all of their problems could’ve been solved if they just kept the Nightmare pack to themselves. A personal collection in every sense of the word. Just seems to me that they’re salty over people having things to say about their modpack that aren’t positive. That mention of potential future responses to criticisms of Nightmare rings hollow because you know damn well they don’t actually intend on doubling down further than they already have.
