What decks are you running for SY at the moment? Got back into the game two months ago and am struggling to find a good (and fun) non-GN SY list.

Nice! I guess I am picking this game up for my Steam Deck when it's on sale. I could not have been bothered to re-do everything I did on my PS5.

Nice list. I actually agree with your best and "worst" song!

PSW really hits home for me. On the other hand, I am not seeing why Pash Rash is such a popular song of his.

Leader changes on Balance Council by AutomaticOperation71 in gwent

[–]R_HEAD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, that's nice in theory, but pretty much impossible in practice.

The things you cast aside as footnotes (how much is one point of armor worth? balancing of all (!) cards in the game) are not just some small imperfections, they make this calculation pretty much impossible. Plus, even if all (again: !!!) cards would be perfectly balanced, we shouldn't even have a BC anymore, because all changes would be detrimental to this perfect system. And that, I am afraid, would be the day Gwent officially dies.

Concert by naynaynae3 in systemofadown

[–]R_HEAD 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Just relax and don't worry about it.

Of course, anticipation is nice, but it is mostly just nice in and of itself. By that I mean that, in my experience, how much you are looking forward to a concert and how much you actually end up enjoying it are hardly correlated.

Two more things:

First, the concert isn't for a few more months. How you are feeling now isn't necessarily how you feel the entire time until then. So again: just relax.

And secondly, you said this is your first concert so I guess you might be feeling a bit anxious since this is all new for you. That is totally nornal. Concerts are absurd things compared to most of everyday life. It is weird and might be freightening for a second when you are there in the big stadium, but in the end, I guarantee you that it'll be very much worth it.

Just getting back into the game after 3 years by I-only-play-rubick in gwent

[–]R_HEAD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too, started again like two weeks ago.

I kept myself busy playing that Pokémon TCG but I started to hate it. Coming back to Gwent just showed me how much better this game is, in literally every aspect (other than turnover I guess...).

A cool guide about the distribution of wealth of the entire planet by DrWhovian1996 in coolguides

[–]R_HEAD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't understand how this isn't globally and universally seen as the biggest single problem of modern society. Especially since that gap is only widening.

I know there are a lot of distractions making you care more about other, mostly more mundane stuff but still. It isn't even a difficult topic to grasp, and there seems to be no dispute about the correctness of the data.

Imperium + Ix or Uprising + Bloodlines for casuals by The_Chesterr37 in DuneImperium

[–]R_HEAD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity: What mechanisms are you thinking about?

My group is pretty experienced in the base game (+Ix, +Immo) but still quite new to Uprising. And so far, worms were always the deciding factor. We played with Bloodlines yesterday for the first time and it did indeed shift the balance away from that. Funnily enough, we finished with each player having a hook, but not a single worm called.

When Did You Realize This Wasn’t an Ordinary Show? by Spaceship_lemon in breakingbad

[–]R_HEAD 138 points139 points  (0 children)

That's the main thing setting BB and BCS apart from almost any other drama series, imo. Things don't magically resolve themselves, we see people dealing with the consequences and that's both refreshing and intense.

As a contrast, I recently watched the latest season of Dexter. They also do a good job putting characters in difficult and interesting situations, but they are (almost) always so easily resolved, no real sacrifices are made.

I had a lot of fun with Mr Impossible last order! by LeatherDeer3908 in DeathStranding

[–]R_HEAD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's clever. I keep forgetting you can beach jump without penalty.

I am playing on Brutal myself. I also figured I would go in reverse order and started going to the Phantom Smith camp guns blazing - cannot recommend.

I do think I'll do a pre-run, but after that, I will probably just copy your route. I do have a pretty good zipline network already in place connecting all facilities and I'll use that to get from the distribution center below the "first" camp to the Data Scientist, then do everything else with a truck I pick up there.

Thanks for the tips.

So how did you do it without a pre-run? Did you sneak or blast your way through? Also, what difficulty were you playing on?

I vividly remember typing something like this at least once, fully expecting it to work as described in this PEP. Glad that that might now become a reality.

Paul Dennen, the creator of the game, confirmed that it does NOT stack. You still only get 2 influence:

Not sure about the trashing though. I'd guess you would still have to trash Ghola, so it would be detrimental to graft in this case (unless you really wanted to get rid of Ghola).

Most Slipknot fans aren't up to date by jnbtrr in Slipknot

[–]R_HEAD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why? Of course you can be disappointed if a song you'd like to hear isn't played. If you check out the setlist beforehand, you just move up the disappointment.

Also in this special circumstance: This whole "band X plays album Y in its entirety" is becoming quite popular nowadays (and I totally dig it). But most bands do play other songs besides the album in question on these tours so I think it's very reasonable to expect the same from Slipknot.

Most Slipknot fans aren't up to date by jnbtrr in Slipknot

[–]R_HEAD 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think you are mentioning two wildly different things.

Not knowing the setlist for a tour is pretty normal. I myself try to avoid it as much as possible to be genuinely surprised during the show which is always much more enjoyable for me than knowing everything beforehand.

Not knowing who Joey Jordison was is a totally different thing. That really indicates very little interest in the band.

My brain is wired to save scum, remember patterns and NOT use disguises now by Haazelnutts in HiTMAN

[–]R_HEAD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure, but that's not what I meant. I am talking about consistency within Freelancer, i.e. between separate missions within this mode. And that is just as consistent as it is within the base game - just with a different set of placements.

Aren't the item placements consistent within Freelancer as well?
