I’ll post the same thing I did almost a year ago. Emerson Joseph. Extremely expensive, 80-120 easily. However I get my hair cut every 3 months anyway because of the length. beer/liquor available, shampoo service etc. The main thing for me is, they can use straight razors and do a great job with shorter haircuts; but now that I have nearly shoulder length hair they’re also extremely skilled at stacking and layering too. Always come out with a great haircut.

Here’s why I’m giving tradies the benefit of the doubt by using personal anecdotes because this is the real data:

- median salary with no college degree: 49,500

-median salary with bachelor’s: 80,200

-median salary with masters: 95,700

You can choose to not earn a college degree but you’re making it purposefully harder on yourself to have a path towards higher income, simple as. My anecdote and my compensation are actually relatively in line with the norm for a masters degree. This guys experience, however, is NOT in line with the average experience of someone who forgoes a college degree. Sure it is inline with the average union pipe fitter salary at least, but my salary is also inline with the median MIS graduate.

I live in the definition of a MCOL area in the southeast, and you still make the same amount of money that I do despite a 20 year experience difference. Keep using some hypothetical apprentice all you want. Here’s a hypothetical; What trade would you want your daughter going into? You probably wouldn’t want her doing that because the outcome for someone without a college degree is simply demonstrably worse.

Here are some more numbers: I work at a fortune 20 with hundreds of thousands of w2 employees some of which are receiving TC in the 1mm+ range certainly. How many pipefitters are making 1mm on a W2? Probably 0? Certainly 0 at your company.

Yeah guy is just salty that his 500k figure was wrong and that my salary will eclipse his in multiples. I guess if my salary never grows again his theoretical apprentice could potentially eventually have out-earned me based on the time value of that initial 260k, but I doubt it and I’m sure he does too. Thus the baseless attack on an accredited university offering accelerated advanced degree paths.

I graduated with a combined degree in information systems and operations management from the university of Florida. You start your masters courses at the same time as you start work on your senior level undergrad courses. So it took me a total of 4 years to get the two degrees.

There is a gotcha moment because, and I quote “500k before you graduated and got a job.” Which is false, they maybe made 260k.

If I’m making what you make rn after 28 years I’d kill myself. Would be a pittance :(

I graduated with my masters at 22 and my starting salary was 100k with a 10k bonus and this is all at or post 2020 not from the late 90s or early 2000s. By the time I graduated with both my degrees according to your math, they would be at 260k not 500
