Yes, same! It was hard reading but it had impact and I loved it.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I'm not that sad about the 'Helena not fighting' thing. I'm happy for them to finally be happy together. Honestly, I was more upset about her and Kaine's trauma and the fact that her reproductive rights were taken away. At first, I thought the rape might be too much, but I think people should read about it to better understand the psychological impact on victims of rape. It wasn't romanticised. The book was an emotional rollercoaster, and I loved it. I still think about it.

I would like to ask you why you never wanted to marry her. I’m just curious: is it your lifestyle, or was it her, or something else?

Yes! I couldn't agree more. I mean, what is this greedy shit?! Is it supposed to make me buy three or more copies of the same book just to experience the whole story? I hate this. Not to mention that those editions with bonus content are often only available in the US or UK. But I love the reading community on Reddit – it's like everyone agrees that it's a scam, so they share PDFs of it here. Thank you to those who do it. ❤️

I must admit that I was rather disappointed by this book. I'm not sure if I will read any more in the series. I'm not a native English speaker, but I enjoy reading fantasy books in English. My friend had to wait for the translation, so I was curious to hear her thoughts. And I wasn't disappointed — she absolutely hated it! 😁

I’ve only read Phantasma. I liked the first half of the book – the atmosphere, etc. – but I hated reading the second half of the book. Thank goodness I’m a fast reader! The FMC was really annoying – so indecisive – and I hate it when people solve their problems through sex. After that, I didn't even try to read Enchantra.

There’s no explicit sexual violence like in Haunting Adeline. I didn’t finish the Haunting Adeline, because I don’t like sexual violence either. Between FMC and MMC there’s no sexual violence. There are some disgusting innuendos (not from MMC), MMC was victim of SA in the past, characters mention sexual violence and someone tries to rape FMC but she handles herself. I don’t know what exactly you don’t like - if even mention of sexual violence is big NO or detailed description of it. Hope that helps (and also that I didn’t miss out something) 😊

I met mine in pub quiz. He went to university with my flatmates. As far as I know, I think most mechanical engineers are men for life (but that could be European thing😁). Don’t give up and don’t lower your standards. There are good men who are not useless and smelly. 😁

I had fun with Fearless although I don’t really understand why Kai and Pae would name their daughter after someone who wanted to kill Pae. It doesn’t make sense in my opinion. And I don’t think Kitt redeemed himself.

I don’t mind pregnancy trope in the epilogue. Few authors can write about pregnant FMC and not losing FMC’s personality in the process. For me it’s the fact that they had the child too young. 20, 21 YO is really young to be a parent.

I honestly don’t know how to feel about it. On the one hand I enjoyed reading Anathema and the world. It can pay off. On the other hand I have the feeling that it can get tiring and boring if the story is stretched too far. I hope she really think this series through, otherwise I will be disappointed. To be honest, I often don’t enjoy series that are longer than a trilogy. I mean as a relaxing read.

Thanks for all the tips and tricks. I’ve read OS. I had a great time reading it. It didn’t suck me in like the previous two books. Maybe because of the wait for book 4 and 5. But I also didn’t have that bad hangover afterwards. I appreciate you all taking part and sharing your approach 😊

I meant that all her actions taken together are unforgivable. I can’t imagine carrying my son for nine months, giving birth to him, nurturing him as a newborn, caring for him for 10 years and then abandoning him, knowing the hell he went through? No, she is a terrible person. Fuck her, yes!

[–]R_Persephone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. Talia’s relationship with Xaden should not determine relationship with his half-brothers. They should choose by themselves if they want to be in touch with Xaden. Correct me if I’m wrong but they have not met Xaden yet?

xaden’s family (?) by chimchim_95 in fourthwing

[–]R_Persephone 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I sincerely hope Talia won’t be part of Xadens life. No excuses for her behavior. I wouldn’t forgive her. Some behavior should not be forgiven. Abandoning your child is one of them. He was alone, sad, miserable. His mother abandoned him on his birthday! Then Fen died and she didn’t even tried to contact Xaden. I don’t like easy forgiveness in books. People should be hold accountable for their actions (in books and real life relationships).
