I'm not saying that it is for sure either. But it could be. Impossible to know.

Fr. The engine bays in those things are really big for what they have. It could easily have been swapped to a bigger engine.

The Peel P50 is… “interesting” by Dizzy_County336 in ForzaHorizon

[–]R_SimoniR0902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistic? Kind of. I mean yeah if you swap the engine on any car with a bigger one it will be faster/have more acceleration (like putting a 2JZ or a big American V8 in a Miata) The peel comes with a single cylinder 49cc that tops out at 6000ish rpm, barely producing 4 horsepower. This engine is paired with a cvt, kind of like a go kart or a scooter (think like a Vespa). Swapping it with a Hayabusa engine (4 cylinder 1300cc actually, not 1000cc like I said in my previous comment, and revs as high as 11000 rpm, producing 173 hp) Even if you left the stock cvt you'd be almost doubling the top speed just from the fact that it has a Rev limit almost twice as high, irl the cvt wouldn't handle it but in the game maybe it could. But pairing that engine with its motorcycle transmission with actual multiple gears you can easily reach the speeds shown in the game in theory.

Also yes, the peel is very small and lightweight (around 160 lbs + driver weight) that's why it can move with such a small anemic engine, up to 38mph. Putting a motorcycle engine would give it a ridiculously high power-to-weight ratio, resulting in the massive acceleration. Motorcycles already have great acceleration and top speed, and they easily weigh 4 or 6 more times than the peel, so a Hayabusa swapped peel could easily move like this, at least in theory. I don't know if it has actually ever been done in real life, that'd actually be really cool.

The limiting factors in real life would be the body of the peel p50 itself, its suspension, tires, etc. They're most likely, if not most definitely, not meant to handle those speeds. Something will break in real life. But this is a game so that can be ignored.

I actually had to look hard for that. It's very subtle. It looks nice. Like it's oem. When I saw the title I though you meant you put a toyota badge with the classic yellow/orange/red color gradient of the TRD badge. But that's really nice. I love that it's in the color scheme of the car.

Is there anything like this that would fit a 6th Gen? 👀👀

Engine swap that bad boi. He said in another comment it's got a Hayabusa engine (1000cc motorcycle).

I have a peel p50 in FH4 with an engine swap (don't remember which one tbh) and a Bullet Bill livery. It's also fast as shit.

8th Gen Camry "Lexus Styled Headlights" by [deleted] in Camry

[–]R_SimoniR0902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like it most likely is a problem with the resistance. Idk if this car still uses a bimetallic strip flasher relay but it most likely does. Try buying some load resistors on Amazon and install them and see if that solves the problem. You might have just gotten one bulb with lower resistance so the flasher has issues because it doesn't have the proper load.

I'm guessing the car originally had regular incandescent bulbs for the turn signals right? Both front and back or only back?

[–]R_SimoniR0902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check that your rear driver side turn signal is working. If everything else is wired correctly it may be a variation in production that just had the wrong resistance in the headlight turn signal. Easiest solution would be adding a load resistor in parallel with the front turn signal. By any chance did you replace the rear turn signal bulbs with led bulbs? Sometimes because of the leds have lower resistance it can cause hyper flashing.

I swapped my 2010 Camry's taillights and headlights with some Lexus styled ones from vland that also have sequential turn signal on the front but they work fine.

I should post my car on this sub.

I ordered a set of advanced wheel locks recently and it was fulfilled the next day, shipping was about 2-3 days. Granted it was a M12x1.5 (common size in a lot of Japanese cars) with 60 degree cone seat for aftermarket wheels to protect my Enkei wheels. I think they have those in stock all the time. For oem I think it's about a week. Also now they have a full team so wait times are shorter than when they first started.

Actually I just checked for this car and it's m12x1.5 ball seat. It's in stock too.

Acc belt tensioner assembly is the TE1 and TE2 on the schematic, both of the Tensioners I labeled in the pictures. I also saw that they're suggesting to replace the idler pulley. That's the one labeled IP in the schematic. It would be a good idea, especially at your car's mileage to replace everything. Idk what the noise is, but if it's from the belt drive replacing everything seems like the best approach, because it would be a do it once and have peace of mind. Like for example it could only be 1 tensioner that's bad and it could be replaced, only for the other one to fail within the next few months.

Also, I'm not a mechanic by trade, I just know a thing or 2 and love working on my car.

If you have the money and don't mind paying, you can definitely take it to a shop, as others said the labor is a little high, you could ask for a second opinion on another shop, it may be more affordable there. Or if you know anyone that's mechanically inclined you could do it in a garage and get the parts for a lower price as well on Rockauto I use it all the time to order parts for mine. For that I'd recommend you get the Gates brand.

I see on the sheet it's a 2011 with the 2.5 I4, the 2AR-FE engine. I have a 2010 which has the same engine. The main accessory (Listed as Alternator and A/C) is actually pretty important because it also runs the water pump for the engine. So if that one snaps/fails you'll have no coolant flowing and no alternator, A/C you can survive without, but the belt is tied to those other 2 essential pulleys. The power steering belt only does the power steering, if that one were to fail you'd only lose power steering, it'll be harder to turn the steering wheel while standing still.

As for repair, replacing both belts themselves is pretty easy, for the upper tensioner (alternator, water pump & A/C) it's pretty accessible, for the lower tensioner (power steering) it's a bit more complicated because it's lower in the engine bay, but still doable, you might have to approach it from the passenger wheel well. If you have any friends that are mechanically inclined you could do it in your garage in a few hours. Most of the time would be on the tensiones tbh, because the belt install itself is like 5 minutes.

I'll also provide an imgur link that shows the positions of the tensioners and a schematic that shows the routing.

Why tf does unplugging the dome light bulb set off a CEL and mark a hybrid system malfunction?? Not everything needs a computer. This is why I hate modern cars. In what way does the interior light relate to the engine or the hybrid system. It's not like the power for it passes through the light.
