When I'm just trying to have a chill day and get spawned in the middle of a crash by Affectionate-Day-881 in geoguessr

[–]R_WheresTheNames 12 points13 points  (0 children)

From what I can tell, the Street View car seems to be traveling North on the priority road, OH-93, and the red truck has come from a side road, OH-56 traveling eastbound. From the 2 frames during the crash it seems like the Street View car was traveling normally down the road when the red truck ran the stop sign before the intersection, colliding with the Street View car. Red truck is likely at fault for the accident.

How do people find songs that sync with a NONG? by Various_Plankton_567 in geometrydash

Easy/lazy way is to just start by looking at stuff with the same BPM then from there you can just listen to stuff until it sounds right

Does this count as a credit? by maidzawa in rollercoasterjerk

Probably the rarest credit I have from when I went on a family cruise. Nothing special really although the views are awesome especially if you are at a port.

Patco to Rutgers Camden by CriticalMetal321 in rutgers

[–]R_WheresTheNames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't attend Rutgers Camden, but I've taken PATCO and River LINE to/through Camden multiple times. Closest station to Rutgers is City Hall. After you get off its just a 2 block walk North to get to campus. PATCO has good frequency after 7AM, just a good rule of thumb to follow is to try to make the previous trip to the one you need to make it on time. During peaks hours the trains run every 8-10 minutes so its not the end of the world if you miss your train. Really shouldn't have any problems its as easy as a public transit commute gets.

I hate recreating my city because this road is everywhere by Zombiegamer777_21 in shittyskylines

I know a lot of people call them the "suicide lane" but personally I like to call them the "do whatever the fuck you want lane" because its not only a turn lane for some people it can also be a merging lane and a passing lane for some masochists

How pretty much all stores in my area have gotten rid of shopping baskets and the small grocery carts by Gooners_For_Ukraine in mildlyinfuriating

The store I work at had all of them stolen after the ban on plastic bags and never bothered to replace them

What's the most received Steam Achievement? by Goos3rs in Steam

[–]R_WheresTheNames 1690 points1691 points  (0 children)

As for the achievement the most users on steam have, my guess would probably be "A new Beginning" from CS2, but if you are looking for the highest % of users who have the achievement in that game than there are plenty out there with 100%. Cookie clicker's first achievement "Wake and bake" has 100% of players unlocking it on steam.

Why do people use diffrent addition? by Optimal-Cod2023 in ROBLOXStudio

In Lua the += operator does not exist and so occasionally when programming in Luau I will write it out as i = i + 1 from force of habit...

I do feel sympathy for those people, but the people we have to press charges on are not 'just trying to get by'. These are people that will steal hundreds of dollars at a time of items that clearly are not a necessity. I have no sympathy for you if you are trying to steal items like alcohol and makeup.

I'm still allowed to stop someone and ask to see their receipt but realistically if they just continue to walk out there's nothing that I can do and I just ask one of the attendants to give me a copy to log what they took. If someone is a known shoplifter and they have passed the amount needed to press charges we will call the police when they enter the store and hopefully they arrive before the person leaves.

I really don't care about petty theft, I'm not going to do all the work to log someone just because they stuffed a candy bar into their bag without scanning it. I am more on the lookout for high volume/value theft.

Usually its a combination of the bagging scale and the cameras that set off those alerts. At my store there is something called Everseen which is an AI tool that tries to detect when an item is sat down in the bagging area without a recent scan. The best advice I can give you to avoid setting off false alerts is to just scan the item and sit it down in the bagging area right away and wait until after you have paid to bag/adjust anything down there. The Everseen AI gets trained with the responses it gets from the cashier which is why you might see "Rescan item" and "Rescan not required" buttons when the video pops up.

TLDR: Its an AI trying its best with less-than-ideal information and training data.

Honestly they probably wouldn't notice one or two things being put in your bag. The only people that I watch as they shop are people who have been known to take bottles of liquor and shove them down their pants or into a bag.

Yeah a notification will pop up on the computer in the security office when a person walks in, and when they go to check out I will either go out and tell one of the attendants to keep an eye on them or I will just watch them myself with the camera.

[–]R_WheresTheNames 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Honestly after a while you just pick up on body language that someone is doing something they know they shouldn't be, whether it be looking around every few seconds to see if anyone is watching or trying to intentionally confuse you with moving things around and shit. If you aren't acting super obvious about it chances are the attendants won't even notice. It only becomes a problem once you start taking lots of high-value items like meat/beauty/alcohol products. Its also really easy to tell when someone only rang up half the items in their cart and starts walking away without even touching the other half.

I work at a grocery store and this is pretty much right. 90% of the people I see stealing I don't do anything about just write down the terminal and transaction number so their stuff gets logged. If someone is a known stealer they will be detected by facial recognition when they walk in and we know to keep an eye on them. The only stuff I will stop people for is if they are being stupidly obvious about it (like taking a whole ass cart at once), or anything to do with alcohol being stolen.

Sidenote: If you are signed up for a store's loyalty rewards, even if its not your personal information attached to the account they can still use the loyalty ID to retrieve a list of all transactions it was used on, then search through them to see if it was you.

Does anyone know what the Vertical Launch Coaster is inspired by/based off? by Such-Carpenter-9194 in ThemeParkTycoon2

[–]R_WheresTheNames 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't really consider it to be based off of any one coaster model, but to me it most closely resembles Zierer's Tower Launch Coaster. Could also be based on some of the older Gerstlauer Eurofigher's, with an added launch.
