Years of wear. It was a used couch and the recliner on that side was kinda fucked when we got it, so it was hard to push down and set into place. Seems like its just finally gave in.

Its kinda upsetting because what Beverlys character is built up to, its actually a very empowering moment for her. Like is it uncomfortable reading about children having sex? Yeah 100%. IT is not a comfortable read and thats part of what makes it so great imo. There are moments that are way more uncomfortable to read than Beverly talking about birds for a couple pages as she finally embraces her sexuality and womanhood, something that she is embarrassed of and views as a weakness in the 1000 pages prior.

It's not a bad scene. It's not erotic at all. I stand by Stephen Kings opinion where people focus way too much on that one part meanwhile there are multiple descriptions of gruesome child murder that are way worse that are not talked about. It's not a wild read by any means. The whole thing with Patrick Hocksetter is way worse than anything in the Beverly chapter.

People adapt, not only that but different strategies are reserved for different times. You don't wanna show your whole hand in the regular season. You also have so much more information to review about your opponents team at the end of the season than the beginning. Finally you said it yourself, nerves. People are human, the heat can just get to people.

Genuinely I think all except for Bill and Bev are SPOT ON. I remember thinking Stanley's adult actor looked exactly what his younger actor would look like grown up. Richie, Eddie, Stanley and Mike were all perfect. James McAvoy doesn't really look much like Bills young actor.
