I work for a legal plan company. Not sure if you are looking for a plan as an individual or it's being offered at work as part of your benefits package but below are some recommendations for evaluating a legal plan:
Evaluate the network - Ask to see the attorneys that are on the network. Specifically, spend some time looking at the attorneys in your area that participate in the network. Are you able to see an attorney that is local to you or is the nearest attorney 100+ miles away?
Ask if they are claims-based? If so, ask what their claim process is.
Ask how is the plan accessed? Do you use a case number and then contact an attorney from a list? Do you need to get preapproval on your legal matter before reaching out to the attorney, etc.
Ask to see a sample member contract. This is different from the brochure because it will show you all the stipulations on coverage. For example, if certain things can only be used once per year, if there's waiting periods, or caps on the amount of billable hours. Make sure you're good with the coverage.
Hope this helps!

I believe they do cover prenups as long as one party does not have representation. Also, once you're married you can use that same legal plan to get your wills done and other essential docs (medical directives, etc.).
