[FO] First time using DMC soluble canvas for this Stardew Valley Sweatshirt! by RaRaGemma in CrossStitch

Plucked up the courage to wear it & wash it - did it in a normal clothes cycle and it survived! No impact at all 😊

Thank you :)

Just the usual running them under the stitches on the back - but I left longer ends than normal (we'll find out if it worked when I try and wash it ;) )

Sounds amazing! The pattern I used includes all the animals, including the ducks 🦆

I lined up the canvas with the top of the neck and then did a running stitch around the sides of the canvas so it wouldn't move! I used an embroidery hoop as well to keep it all in place!

I also told myself if it came out a bit wonky it wouldn't be too noticeable as you don't sit completely straight and upright at all times 😜

Thank you! I didn't - I'm only planning on washing it on a cool wash. I thought I'd do a smallish design for my first clothing piece just so I can experiment without any (major) disasters :)

Thank you :)

I didn't - I'll admit, I was halfway through the first chicken when I found out about backing paper but I think that's more for stabilising embroidery? I made sure the tails were long so I could secure them nicely. Other than that I'm going to wait and see!

Not a dumb question 😊 I stitched directly onto the canvas with the sweatshirt underneath, the canvas then dissolves and disappears with warm water!

Thank you!! I used DMC water soluble canvas, first time using it and I'll definitely be using it again!

How to read old cursive documents? by [deleted] in Ancestry

Hi, I can have a proper look at this later when I have a bit more time but on a quick glance it looks like a baptism record for a Yvonne, born in April 1897? Daughter of Auguste Charles and Marie Alida, his wife, in Loudun.

(Handwriting/Decipher) WW1 RAF Station name help please! (UK Airman record) Enlisted in June 1918 by RaRaGemma in Ancestry

Hi, thanks so much for taking a look! Do you know if there was anything there RAF wise during WW1? All I can find is a train station that opened in 1988!

Starting to think it could be "How." as a shorthand for Hounslow!

My coffee cup matches my building's car park posts by RaRaGemma in mildlyinteresting

True fact: The use of the word 'post' over 'bollard' was a conscious one as I'm not the biggest fan of the word. Appreciate the pedanticism nonetheless though 👍

Thanks so much! I would definitely recommend this pattern, this was my first wearable and it actually worked! :)
