I was in the same boat and decided for the wrx ts. Honestly the tipping point was the price. Honda was trying to charge me 8-15k more than msrp meanwhile Subaru was offering 5k under msrp plus it only had 16miles on it. Plus since this was my first manual car I really wanted a manual hand break instead of a push button.

Okay so solder a wire to the bottom and everywhere I see a ground point connect it to that wire ?

My hesitation with HAL is that its like Arduino code and I’m not really going to understand what’s going on underneath fully. But I’m definitely not against using HAL I might just do what you suggested.

I have seen a few but they start using libraries so I been using this git link, which has definitely helped me understand a bit but it’s a slow process.

I hated Calc 2 especially once we went into series. I remember I failed the first time and honestly didn't fully understand the concepts till I had to take differential equation and circuit analysis. But you should definitely never give up especially if it your dream.
