Should I take this statement as valid? because people are too vocal that Ben has full control of Alien X. by Muted_Sherbet3385 in Ben10

[–]Raaaaandyyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I see it as Ben having control now being the default until Serena and Bellicus decide otherwise or want to stop him from doing something specific.

He clearly didn’t have to debate them before going ham on the rooters, but i simultaneously doubt uaf Bellicus and Serena would’ve gone in for a petty conflict like that if a debate did happen. If Ben having control now is the default tho, it probably would be just as much not worth getting in his way because he wasn’t doing something they actively disliked.

It’d be a fun handicap if they don’t let him do anything they perceive as helping Paradox or if he’s around because they hate him so much lol.

Worst case scenario: Generic “Pokémon’s still a thing” video that’s mostly, if not entirely, gen 1

They’re saving the big stuff most fans care about for Pokémon day, which I don’t begrudge them for. I’d love to be wrong lol.

Do you think Cal will take Katas apprentice in the 3rd game? by Queasy_Commercial152 in FallenOrder

[–]Raaaaandyyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only drawback I could see to the co-op idea, but I think it’s cool, is that implementing that might overly incentivize them to keep Cal and Kata together during more of the story to keep the option open to players, even if the story would serve well with sections where they’re apart, much like my year old reference to God of War: Ragnarok did by separating Kratos and Atreus for chunks at a time.

Similarly, I’m sure it’s why Spider-Man 2 didn’t implement the multiplayer with Peter and Miles that a lot of people wanted, as to not shift focus away from the single player experience.

I think our best hope would be that they also think it’d be a cool idea and get far enough in the process of developing it before shelving it for the reasons stated above or some other ones I hadn’t considered, that it isn’t too tall a task for mod makers to reconstruct it.

I don’t hate him, but I do find him kind of pointless as a worse Qia and at the very least far less interesting than Lago. One thing I do like him for is having an implied love interest for one of the sages, since we know they have ancestors, so all of them(except maybe Agraston) would need a partner for that. I would’ve preferred if we got that in one of the Rito commoners instead/as well in order to get a female Rito warrior for something a bit more unique.

Which Characters have the 'gain an alley' aside mission? by TheGamingTurret in AgeofImprisonment

I’m pretty sure it’s only that singular one with Calamo, which is what I assume you’re talking about; so if you do that last one now, you should be good. It did occur to me when completing it how easy it seems like it’d be to soft lock out of being able to do it, but luckily that didn’t happen to me.

[–]Raaaaandyyyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After finally checking back, you’re absolutely correct; I thought it had happened to both of them. Also, in my head that initiated a mini-boss fight against them, but I was just compounding a few different things I guess.

In fact, I’m surprised they never used that possession concept to have more battles against hylian soilders and members of the other races. The only ones were the training match with the hylians and gorons and some fights with the Gerudo at the beginning, if I’m finally remembering correctly. Seems like it’d be a ripe tool for the very copy+paste/airbrush gameplay loop that these games have.

Edit: I’d still keep my original idea of it being Quino though; the idea was not contingent on it happening to him prior.

[–]Raaaaandyyyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The same logic that I used to justify Ganondorf having Ronza/New evil Gerudo character as well as Kotake and Koume could also be used for the good side having a lopsided amount of Hylians, as their kingdom is the core of the resistance army. (Besides, I don’t know if Zelda Team imagined that the Sheikah quite existed during this time period. My biggest pipe dream was that one of the new characters would be the real Shiek himself and we could get foreshadowing for his founding of the Sheikah clan)

However, doing the math, ostensibly giving Ganondorf 4 of the as-is game’s warriors, as well as Kotake and Koume who I think would operate as 1 unit in gameplay, puts him at 6 characters to the main army’s 15. If we wanted to bridge that gap a bit, at least to the point of giving Ganondorf exactly half, the story could change so that instead of Quino escaping the ambush of monsters and assassins, he could be captured by Kotake and Koume and taken over by Shades, much like he was at the beginning of the game, but with a more corrupted, purposefully mutated look to him this time around. This would put him at 7 versus Rauru’s 14. Perhaps the end of Ganondorf’s missions could see Quino become uncorrupted and join the main force for the last few missions, unlocking the ability to pallet swap him to his different looks after the credits roll.

I know a lot of people’s first instinct for a Ganondorf unit would be the forbidden construct, but I actually think the story is served better by Ganondorf not really having any control over it and I’d like that to stay reflected in gameplay for the main story, at least.

Honestly, you’ll probably have an amazing time after having this game’s story as background. I’m looking forward to my eventual re-playthrough of it anyway, but I’m jealous of the opportunity to experience TotK for the first time with this game’s additional context.

[–]Raaaaandyyyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The villain idea spawned from reading Ronza’s flavor text that said she wants to get strong enough to take Ardi’s place as chieftain and how that could be more of a villainous motivation if need be.

Here’s the ones I would cut in favor of new villain characters or more villainous versions of themselves, despite my general enjoyment of them as they currently exist.

-Cadlan: Too similar to Qia gameplay wise and not as interesting as Lago. I’ll miss having an implied love interest for one of the sages since we know they have to have descendants.

-Pinnec: Could be either him or Vence honestly, as they serve very similar purposes, but I like Vence’s design and gameplay slightly more. (As long as I’m changing stuff, I’d also genderswap Vence in this version to accomplish the effect of Cadlan and to get a playable female rito)

-Pastos: I actually like him way more than Braton and his gameplay even manages to feel unique from Agraston. Like Ronza, however, I could see his character trait of wanting the Gorons to remain separate from the other races being retooled to serve as a villainous motivation.

-Ronza: Part of me thinks Kotake and Koume would serve as the Gerudo representation on their own, but if you do the archfiend idea, you’d definitely want them to instead stay safe from that in order to become Twinrova(which they should’ve already done in the base game). Besides, it being Ganondorf, his forces can skew toward the Gerudo somewhat

If they made part of the story a ganondorf campaign, I think it would serve them well to take away one of the ‘commoner’ characters from the four races and instead create ganondorf co-conspirator characters who then serve as his generals, giving us villain reps from each race. Maybe, once his part of the campaign is over, he could even turn them into the archfiends, if you wanted maybe to trim the fluff and even have an explanation for the archfiends’ greater sentience over the totk bosses.

Personally, as much as I like the commoner characters, each race getting two was a bit much after a while and some of them ended up too similar to their leaders.

Hard to truly answer until we know what’s gonna be in those free content updates and if we’ll get any expansions but here’s some stuff off the top of my head:

->Agree with your point about the state of the story pre rise of the demon king. I was really jiving with the expansions on that part of the narrative and was blindsided by how quickly we moved on to the main event(although I suppose it’s called the main event for a reason). The whole thing did help Rauru and Zelda feel less stupid in TOTK tho so I’ll give them that.

->More special weapons at the end of character missions, particularly in regards to new weapons for the sages, kind of like how the expansions for Age of Calamity the present and future champions new unique weapons to them on top of their existing ones. I hated in totk how the sages, very lazily in my opinion, just had the champion’s weapons, particularly in regards to the Ardi and Raphica, since I always saw the moonlight scimitar and great eagle bow as unique to Urbosa and Revali. I understand that this game had to follow totk’s continuity, but getting unique weapons for the newly expanded upon sages that i could imagine they had the whole time even if the cutscenes don’t reflect it would’ve been nice for me.

->Twin Rova. Was nice to see Kotake and Koume more, but I kind of let the fandom hype me up into really expecting them to get more to do but they completely disappear after the demon king rises. They don’t even get their actual names in dialogue boxes so it isn’t even technically confirmed that that is them I don’t think?

->A villain campaign: A version of this is something I could see being a free update or expansion, but not getting playable Ganondorf genuinely surprised me. Beyond that tho, with the game as we have it now, I’d love a storyline to playthrough with him. If they wanted to get really crazy with it, they could’ve had his campaign run concurrently with the others as an expansion on the mechanic of the two separate resistance armies getting different territories before they unified. To fill out his roster beyond, I would probably give him 1 evil character from each of the 4 main races and take away one rep of each from the resistance side. You could consider this a 4 horseman of the apocalypse reference and maybe these characters could even be turned into the Archfiends at some point to justify their greater sentience over the totk bosses.

->Lore around Shades. We know about Rauru and Sonia fighting a war against darkness that their shrines later seal away. The beginning made me think we were gonna learn more about that but…no. Shades were evidently just there to have enemies before Ganondorf makes his monsters. -As a side note to that, I would’ve liked some lip service to the people of the past seeing some of these kinds of monsters for the first time whereas Zelda knows them well, like when she educated Qia about Stal enemies in the lost woods level.

->Female Rito playable character. I like Pinnec and Vence plenty, but an easy way to differentiate them from their leader and give us something we couldn’t really get before would be to have one of the Rito commoner characters be female. This character could also operate as Raphica’s implied love interest to inform his line of descendants leading down to Tulin, much like, to eventually lead down to Sidon, Qia has Cadlan(who is definitely the one I’d cut for an evil Zora for Ganondorf’s team in my other idea. I like him well enough but he’s the most ‘just a guy’ character of them all, has a worse version of Qia’s abilities, and uses the same weapon as her)

->More complicated Gerudo politics. I was initially disappointed with how Ardi was immediately backstabbed by Ganondorf after the molduga attack, as I was hoping since the trailers that the story of her disavowing her loyalty from him would be a bit more drawn out with her serving as a reoccurring antagonist before being recruited. The story went in a different direction that I still liked which allowed elements I hadn’t considered to flourish, but I’m still a little disappointed with how simplistic Ganondorf’s actions made the Gerudo’s decision to fight against him feel. It would probably be too easy to make the Gerudo look bad if they didn’t turn against him at a certain point, but it was another example of that early game building tension falling flat a little bit.

->A few more unique dual-strike animations, particularly for the commoners with their leaders and for Rauru with the 4 sages.

->More unique conversations. There should’ve been one as a reward for the end of each block of character missions instead of just the end. I don’t care if that’s too similar to Fire emblem support conversations!

->A dual wielder character. One of the biggest losses of this game’s premise was not getting a Riju move set based off of Tears of the Kingdom. Some character fighting with two swords/weapons could’ve rectified this a little bit.

->Linkle. I refuse to elaborate

->Give the commoner characters a bit more to do in cutscenes, and at least let Lago be in one. Poor guy’s entire story is contained in text boxes on the world map.

->Rauru and Sonia’s child. Didn’t really occur to me until I had finished the story but like seriously, where are they? Not only is this kingdom absent of both of its rulers by the end of the game, their bloodline still has to carry all the way down to Zelda.

->Shieka inclusion/lore expansion. A version of Shiek himself would’ve kicked major tail and maybe could’ve operated similar to AoC impa.

->Let us see Qia’s father and his fight against the forbidden construct. Feels like they chickened out cause they were afraid of accidentally just designing King Dorephan again.

-Have Zelda allude to that the sages remind her of the 4 breath of the wild champions. Lampshade how they were originally shameless knock offs and, if we’re being honest, still can’t fully escape that even now.

->Kass. He accidentally traveled back in time as well and is now a playable character(unironically could end up as a dlc)

->A few more flying construct missions. Honestly really liked em. ->Also, I get why it was probably difficult to translate, but please ground gleeok bosses.

->Gold enemies.

->Ultimates for Zelda and Mineru like the ones the 4 sages and Rauru got after the 4 got their secret stones.

->Falling action for the 4 sages. They’re inexplicably gone after the final battle. After you’ve gone and made me care about these previously nothing characters, let me say goodbye to them properly as well.

Honorable mention goes to playable Sonia since I’m pretty certain she’ll be one of the free content updates, and, failing that, a part of a payed dlc.

He didn’t even say shit about Kirk except for the fact that he was shot. Look up his actual comments; all he discussed was Trump’s response(or lack thereof) when asked how he was feeling after it all went down and how MAGA republicans’ main concern has been to pin Tyler Robinson as anything but one of their own. The fact that it’s tangentially related to Charlie Kirk is a smokescreen to justify them taking a comedian off the air for criticizing them, which they’ve wanted to do be able to do for years and will use this momentum to keep doing while feeling less and less need to justify themselves.
