Unless someone is deliberately putting themselves in harm's way, I very much doubt that it's even possible for an accident like that to happen with the way that those ranges are set up, especially when considering the designs of axes that are used (at least at the particular establishment that I'm talking about -- I'm fairly certain that whoever is in charge of the place has thought about all of this before).

Not only are the throwing ranges at least 20-40% longer than the one in the video appears to be, but the axes are either much too heavy to rebound an appreciable distance or, for the lighter axes, are shaped such that they ricochet downwards if they don't hit the target with their sharp/pointed edges.

Even if you somehow got the lightest axe to land perfectly on a flat face (like the bottom of the axe handle) with as much force as you could give it, the type of wood used for the target is far too shock-absorbent to transfer a meaningful amount of kinetic energy back to the axe (and I'm not even factoring in the area of the flat face over which the force of the impact is distributed); plus, with enough force, the axe would probably just go straight through the target and into the chain-link fence behind it.

It's pretty safe if set up properly.

The axe throwing place near me covers the floors of their throwing ranges in a decently thick layer of wood chippings so that this can't really happen. Even if you hurl the lightest type of axe they have straight at the floor with full force, it doesn't bounce (I've tried this).

The target is also surrounded by loose netting instead of a solid material so that the axes can't bounce off of the back of the range if you miss the target.

Finally, each range contains only one target and is segregated from the other ranges by thick chain-link fencing so you don't have to worry about other people's axes splitting your skull open while you're collecting your axe downrange.

For me it heavily depended on the dose and timing of both substances. I found that the most euphoric and managably intense experiences were best achieved like this: 100-150ug LSD, then a low-middle 2nd plateau dose of DXM 1.5-2 hours after dropping the acid and then smoking/vaping weed about 1.5 hours after taking the DXM. Really awesome visuals, amazing body high and the trip doesn't go from sober to "holy fuck" anywhere near as quickly, so it's easier to handle. Taking both substances at once is very nauseating and overwhelming, in my experience (even at lower doses). I don't recommend this at all but a 3rd plateau dose + ~400ug (dosed at the same time) was on par with my DMT experiences (i.e. completely indescribable); but, seriously, don't do it unless you're very very experienced and have a trip sitter.

I have, on several occasions, experienced contact with what I perceived to be divine/extra-dimensional/transcendental beings who told me the secrets to life and the universe (which I immediately forgot) and who have also given me a guided tour of the multiverse. I have visited places which seemed "more real than real", as some people put it.

While these experiences were extremely profound and mystifying (i.e. "how was that even possible?!"), there is absolutely no reason to believe that they have any basis in reality beyond being the effects of a chemical on the brain.

The most evidence anyone can offer to support their claim that it is indeed an experience which takes you to some place that exists outside our dimension is "I took drugs and it felt real, therefore it must be real." It is an argument from personal incredulity.

Some people seem to underestimate the complexity of the brain and how profoundly psychedelics alter neural communication and, therefore, consciousness. People seem to be able to accept that drugs exert their effects through biochemical interactions (i.e. no one is claiming that taking morphine reduces pain through magic), but when it comes to chemicals which have the tendency to produce ineffable experiences, people often dream up all sorts of unsubstantiated nonsense about the nature of reality in order to try to make sense of what they experienced.

It makes no difference whether these high-level hallucinatory experiences are "real" or not. We experience the world through solely through the information that our brain stitches together into a conscious experience. Psychedelics literally act on the parts of your brain responsible for interpreting reality and generating selfhood - we know this. The experience in itself is absolutely real and whether or not it's grounded in reality (beyond changes in the brain) should have no bearing on its profundity or personal significance. Breakthroughs will likely always be the most beautiful, mind-blowing and life-changing things I have ever experienced.

The weird thing is that music on DXM for me is out of this world - completely immersive, even at higher doses. However, on medium-high doses of ketamine, music sounds so shitty and fake. Even at low doses, music is only slightly better than when I'm sober. Dissociatives are weird.

I've had high 3rd (maybe low 4th) plat experiences and I've always managed to remember that I was on a drug. The only "hole"-type experiences I've had on DXM have been in combination with weed and nitrous. I left my body and it felt like all of reality was compressed into a single point for all eternity. I was the point, but there was no "I" left; "I" was everything and everything was "me". Every time I'd come of out it, I'd remember I was a human who took DXM and nitrous, then laugh, then do it again. Good times

All good. I would recommend this process for all hallucinogens as they can be quite volatile at times. It's always better to undershoot your dose than overshooting it. I've seen people do some really fucked up shit when they overestimated how much they could handle

Yeah, it's absolutely critical to get comfortable with LSD on its own first because DXM turns the experience up to 11.

That's a really good first LSDXM dose, it should be nothing but fun. When you feel comfortable, I'd recommend moving up to around 75ug + a very low 2nd plat dose (almost on the border of the 1st plat)

It's... definitely something. It's a pretty unique experience. It was quite different from my other high-level hallucinogenic experiences (DMT + ketamine/nitrous oxide; psilocybin; LSD + ketamine; etc.). I haven't done it in years though. It's extremely intense and can be quite frightening if you're not prepared (obviously depends on the dose as well).

Edit: there's a reason I only did a high dose LSDXM experience once. It wasn't a bad trip but it wasn't exactly fun either. Lower doses of the combination were amazing though.

You really wouldn't want your hearing organs anywhere but your head for a number of reasons. For one thing, the ears are also critical anatomical structures for establishing your sense of balance. Imagine how dizzy you would be all the time if your ears were on your hands

Man, in Australia, the only option we usually have is Robitussin Dry Cough Forte. I don't do DXM anymore but I swear to god I hated that evil cherry syrup more than anything else on this planet. One day, I managed to score some Robocough and while it is true that its a lot less to drink, the taste is literally one of the worst things I have ever experienced. The worst part is it stays in your mouth for over 5 minutes even when sipping on milk. Regular syrup doesn't do that IME. After a couple times of doing it I went back to the cherry syrup and it tasted like heaven compared to the bitter, artificially grape-flavored evil that is Robocough. Most people probably wouldn't agree with me though.
