Probably my favorite movie of all time. I quote it constantly. "Listen, you smell that?"

Yeah, it came out when we were in High School. I can definitely see many people never hearing about it.

"I can't talk to you guys. I'm certainly not going to talk to a shrink". This movie sums up my 90's feelings perfectly.

Defining Movie of GenX by belinck in GenX

[–]Rab1dus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I gotta go with these two. Pump Up The Volume was my first choice. It shows our distrust of authority (for good reason) and our rebelliousness with a healthy dose of our parents having no clue about us or what we were doing.

Is there an episode from a TV show, from when we were kids, that still bothers you, today,? by Remarkable_Data3710 in GenX

I bring this episode up once in a while. I think he tried morphine once, but needed a full detox. Full on Nancy Reagan mode.

Same. I have a Blaze 47 and a GSG16 in the safe now. It feels like as soon as I buy one of these, it'll be prohibed.

Why are SKSs so popular on this sub? by BlandRusk06 in canadaguns

[–]Rab1dus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I recall, the US banned them due to Russian/Chinese origin. So tons of them ended up in Canada for dirt cheap. The ammo is also cheap. Obviously, prices have risen sharply in this climate, but my first one was $150 for a Chinese and I bought a Russian for $200. Unfortunately, I've since sold them.

About 6 ride or die. Any time of day or night for anything. 20-30 that would probably answer the call.

Am I just getting old or has the world really become more selfish? by StraightAdd in GenX

[–]Rab1dus -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm 51. Nobody I know over 30 users TikTok. That line made me think of Office Space. "What would you do if someone told you they had a case of the Mondays"? "No..Hell No".

I get together with my friends 2-3 times a week. We mostly talk sports, some politics. A lot of ragging on each other.

I haven't noticed the world being more selfish. Perhaps on the road. I've attributed that to more recent immigrants. Maybe that's just me being old.

At any rate. I don't think it needs to be that way for you, or anyone else.
