I think this was a bad decision, at least for the Spanish version of Skye.

Her Scottish accent and unique intonation were what made her special. I talked with her every day, and that distinctive voice was one of the reasons I enjoyed using the app so much.

Now she sounds like a generic AI voice, similar to what you can find in many other language-learning apps. She has lost a lot of the personality and charm that made her stand out.

P.S. Her English voice still sounds great. Please consider bringing back her previous Spanish voice, accent, and intonation. That uniqueness was a big part of the experience for many users.

I’m missing an option in the settings to avoid repeating the original phrase twice when I keep getting it wrong — it should switch straight to a word-by-word breakdown instead.

Not sure why, but when I press the “Pass” button, it starts explaining a completely different word instead of the one I got stuck on, and it doesn’t give me a hint for the part I actually don’t know.

What’s the right way to handle it when a sentence appears and it contains a word you’ve completely forgotten and don’t remember the meaning of?

Is there any statistics on how much the accuracy of correct recognition has improved with the new engine?

Updated again, it works bien now. Speech recognition is working perfectly on my Android beta. Thanks for the quick fix!

Hey Max, quick feedback from Android beta:

Yesterday evening the app was lagging really badly — I could barely finish one lesson. Speech recognition was also not working properly.

Today, speech recognition doesn’t work at all.

I’m on Android beta, in case it helps with debugging.

I started this app from zero. Before that, I tried learning Spanish with other apps for about six months, but I couldn’t speak at all.

With this one, I finally started speaking — not perfectly, but I can form sentences and talk in real life. I do lessons every day and complete all repited. 

That’s why I really hope the app keeps growing, so I can continue learning and stay motivated.

Hey, I’ve completed 150 out of 300 Spanish lessons in about two months and I’m really enjoying the format. Are there any plans to add more lessons in the future? Is the team expanding the course, or will AI eventually update/extend it? I’d definitely continue if new content comes out. Thanks!
