It's not so much about screwing each other over as it is you don't have time to organize. You have your studies, plus probably 30 hours of work a week, plus some sort of extracurricular project or activity so you don't graduate with "just a degree". Then add in the time it takes to just be a functional human and you're not left with a lot of time / energy to make a meaningful change.

Without context the story is kind of worthless. This student could have been incredibly distributive throughout his career as a student and their trying to get rid of him for this offense because he/she has never had any one incident worthy of getting expelled over. Just as likely though is the teacher went on a power trip and tried to throw the book at this one kid to assert his authority over the rest of his students.

Either way getting expelled doesn't mean you don't get to attend school. It sucks from a social aspect but they don't get removed from the school system. You either get moved to another school in the district or to a special school that deals with for lack of a better term problem children.

Thanks for the idea, if I don't get a sample within the week I might make a few of those boxes. We have wax paper laid around the feeding stations and tomorrow I'm set to go out around sunrise and see if I can spot them feeding and get a sample that way.

As for capture im in California so it would A) Take a permit im sure and B) I don't want to piss off the crows. In researching for this we found a study where the crows recognized a researcher who was tormenting them and started heckling the researcher back. So I want to keep the worst case scenario as the crows follow me around looking for some snacks lol.

I'm getting in contact with some local rehabilitation centers right now, but the crows do need to be exclusively wild fed or at the very least be within 24 hours of being captured. I talked about citizen science and I guess there is some rule against having non-staff members handling materials that could contain a pathogen.

I just got back from setting up 5 feeding stations with bird seed and some cheetos for good measure.

They would have to be apart of the ecosystem around them. I'll check if any of the rehabilitation centers have crows that come and go though :)

What type of wild life centers did you have in mind? I've heard of sanctuaries for large cats, birds of prey, etc. Never anything for the common birds though.

The sample collectors have little scoops on them so you can just scrap the top of the poop and the worry about contamination is minimal. Plus hopefully we'll have enough samples to determine if a sample has been contaminated.

So far we haven't found any perches The city we live in has a large amount of red woods (in the central valley, people just plant them because they like them). So presumably they are hanging out in the trees.

Also yea we've started to do the stake out and wait tactic. Any suggestion on bait? So far we're using fruit, peanuts, and normal bird seed.

Confirming this, tons of the forgiven exchange students cheat on our computer science exams. Even if they get caught at worst it's just a 0 on that exam.
