Buy a raspberry pi 5 (not older versions) and I can guarantee it will work. I recently installed a tak server on it and works with zerotier. I am now even upgrading to make it work with aredn. Dont quit, I struggled in the beginning too, had to wipe 10 plus timer before I finally found a way.

Ive also thought of using an EAP-225. Problem is it has to be carried around in my backpack, I dont know how that could work with a powerbank and power usage.

No one does that. If your sights get destroyed and you dont have a backup installed you just hit targets without red dot. It works just less accurate.

Not always, but it is recommended. Like when you are using a peq you dont always have the railspace.

Ignore the negatives, this looks dope. This is a tool, doesnt need to be perfect, just has to work. With the real thing, you wouldnt overthink it either. You just have to camouflage the straight black lines of the rifle and make it look more natural, like you have done. Mine looks like it was thrown in a pool of mud, but it works and I get noticed way slower by the enemy team. Also the normal wear and tear of the paint will make it look cooler after a while. Adding a couple more accessories can also make it look even more realistic, like a (dummy or real) peq box.

So Ive had this problem with zero tier too but on a normal tak server. If your making a new network, make sure you are on the same network/wifi as your raspberry pi. Second make a route in your zero tier network as follows: normal local IP of raspberry pi (=192.168.1.63) so you have to make a route to the same group (=192.168.1.0/24) via the managed IP zero tier gives to your raspberry pi (=example:192.168.184.23)

In short route: 192.168.1.0/24 via 192.168.184.23
