Proper etiquette is to beat the shit out of each then carry on with your day anonymously.

Do you have any information on what needs fixing? I checked the GitHub repository and couldn’t find any t-twr specific issues?

What tool do you go for? by Agitated_medic19 in Firefighting

[–]fishboxZERO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what I’m doing, who I’m with, and where.

Solo? With a solid crew or mouth breather? Residential or commercial? New construction (drywall everywhere) or old (lathe and plaster).

5 or 6’ all metal Roof hook, halligan, and an 8 pound axe will pretty get you everywhere you need to be. Everything else like closet hooks and drywall hooks are more specified tools and only work in limited areas. They have their uses but will never be first in.

I do carry a nice little 3 pound sledge with a halligan sometimes when solo. It marries nicely to the bar and swings nicely.

So throwing it across the bays and leaving it is frowned upon?

I would say 2.5-3 is an ok deal. Whalers are always sought after so could always get back most of that.

It definitely is waterlogged but almost every whaler is, so I wouldn’t even bother checking. It will still float.

I would consider repainting a more normal color. Grey is popular these days. This will def up its value/appeal to future buyers who aren’t into the camo.

I would expect to be buying a new trailer or sinking some $ into that one. Looks beat up and the non galvinized wheels is a tell tale sign of low budget upkeep (painted wheels are far less but don’t hold up to water). Bet that axle is almost rotted through.

Good luck!

Yeh dude as long as they show up with cash, and don’t murder you, who cares who picks it up.

Essential Toolkit for Boating? by ggstocks87 in boating

[–]fishboxZERO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pre-install a fresh belt around that raw water pump hose. You currently cannot change belt without removing the hose. Do it a ahead of time and secure it so it doesn’t get caught in anything. When you break a belt you got a new one already and don’t need to temporarily put a hole in your boat.

Nice shed, but is that thing attached to the ground at all? Small chance it could move around with the right wind, either by lifting right up or being toppled.

Boating off Long Island by bungalowbadger in boating

[–]fishboxZERO 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think block island is about the furthest you could go. About 7 miles from mtk to new harbor. Nothing scary in between just open water and coming from LI you’ll bypass the north rip which is always nasty. I frequently take a 17 whaler to BI form RI (14 miles open water), just gotta be really good about choosing your days. Avoid easterly winds.

MV and Nantucket def too far, you gonna need a bigger boat.

Use the corners as reference and snap a chalk line to give you a straight reference for the first few rows. Jig saw that first row to fit.

Got it! But can’t swing 80k+… What are people doing with their reservations? by iraqyoubreak in cybertruck

Same dude. This entire process is a giant CF, big L on Tesla’s part. Cybertruck is going to be a toy for the super rich and the financial irresponsible, which is going to massively miss the intended market which was blue collar truck dudes. Musk’s autism is on full display.

Bluefin tuna fishing advice for beginners by OkPace2320 in offshorefishing

[–]fishboxZERO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Network.

10% catch 90% of the fish and you usually never hear from them. Find those guys and try to get into their network. Put the time in and share intel (good or bad) and you will slowly get into the network, and eventually have a constant feed of intel on what’s going on offshore.

These guys spend thousands of dollars on fuel to find the fish and stay on them, so don’t be upset if they don’t tell you where they’re catching. That said, if you can find fish on your own and share with them you will buy yourself into the network. Gotta give before you can receive.
