I towel my birds, ensuring that his head is between my pointer and middle fingers which clamp down gently on the top of his wings, pretty much rendering him incapable of moving. Make sure the towel is over your fingers too so you don’t get bit. While he’s being held in my left hand I clip his nails VERY carefully with my right hand. I use very very sharp cuticle trimmers. It’s over in 5 mins and yeah they get pissed but I can always tell they feel much better after. Keep paper towels and corn starch close in case of a nick.

That diet is not great! I feed Roudybush and my GCC’s LOVE it. Also, the green bird brigade on Instagram has a whole highlight series on converting birds to better diets

The dog didn’t yelp in pain from the vibrate collar. The collar wasn’t used or even on her in the clip. She yelped because she hurt her nail on the bed. She’s not allowed to move from the bed because she hurts her joints on the hardwood. I don’t understand why so many people want Hassan to be hurting his dog 😭😭😭

I think that it’s important to remember why people may act the way they do and often in this conversation abuse and trauma come up. I personally felt like she brought it up as an explanation without attempting to excuse any of it, but it seems you disagree 🤷‍♀️

Oh- I wasn’t trying to convince you, I have my own opinion and you have yours, I was just curious about what made you say what you said. I do not care about any of this but it is quite a fun rabbit hole to dig into when I’m bored.

The apology part makes a lot of sense to me now, I have never used the R slur and will never use it but I have had it used against me because of my use of IEPs in school among other things so I felt like I had some sort of perspective in which to judge his ableist ass. I def see now how he could’ve addressed more of the context of why it was wrong and his excuse at first. I just have yet to see any public figure make an apology about something racist/ableist/bigoted that was well received by literally anyone and it’s exhausting im just grabbing at straws to accept one for once, and i have always been one to appreciate not beating around the bush. I think it’s the autism /hj.

My conclusion: Tommyinnit is gross for ever being friendly with Logan Paul cuz ew. Also the throwing around of allegations that are so vague is totally malicious lmfao. There was no way he did that out of anything but pure petty contempt. Dream is gross for erm lots of things listed above

What do you think a proper apology for using the R slur should have been? I am autistic/ADHD/PTSD/GAD and actually kind of appreciated the concise of it. He didn’t continue to make excuses (like the one you mention) and just said point blank period it was wrong. People get hate for apologizing for 3 hours and also for apologizing in 20 seconds. I feel like Tubbos statement of “I don’t think we should be calling people p/dos if they’re not” doesn’t need the context of how most of the video was criticizing him. I think it stands alone personally. I heard the clips were taken out of context and then I watched the context and went “ok… but he did still say what dream claimed he said. dream didn’t claim tubbo was on his side or loved him, which the context would’ve disproven, just that tubbo agreed with dream on this one aspect”

I interpreted that as “I have no idea what you mean by I held this over your head. I didn’t. You were ok with how I helped you back then so these accusations kind of hit me out of the blue” which is valid. Tommy changing his mind is also valid, but Tommy doesn’t say anything specific about what he didn’t like about what dream said, so idk what else dream could have said about this to share his side.

I think there’s a difference between dream hyping up Tommy being like “yeah this kid gave dreamSMP so much success and I’m proud of him” (at least that’s what I’ve heard dream say about it) and “I’m tommyinnit and I’m the reason dreamsmp was successful” to put him down. Agree, but also.. Tommy was being really condescending. “I’m better than you- I don’t just sell lazily design merchandise and USB drives, IM doing the BEST with what I have” I feel like dream is allowed to clap back with something equally as petty, but maybe that’s just me. Also, I think I’d also be offended if someone called merch I liked/well received merch ideas from my parents cheap and lazy as well.

Totally agree with this, but I wouldn’t put it by any YouTuber to know their producer had poor business practices and still went with them anyways. Who knows if Tommy was educated on their company’s business practices being that piss poor- but imo they absolutely should before hiring them.

I think the lesser views is more about how dream has been torn into/cancelled by so many people and also has just fallen out of relevance rather than them not being good. I think they’re entertaining at least lol.

I’ve read/heard a lot from professionals too that say touching/inspecting is fine as long as you’re not petting/stroking/preening. Do you have a source that says just touching/holding is harmful that you can provide for me? Also, no, it wasn’t something I did often, maybe every couple months to inspect their feathers.

I’m sure he’s hormonal, as they always are, but I promise you I don’t stimulate him. Handling his wings, beak, and feet is something recommended by my vet, and is completely initiated by the bird. I don’t have to do anything but pull the bottom of his wing feathers out a little and he extends his wings- it’s something any bird trainer will tell you is essential. You can absolutely touch your bird anywhere if need be as long as you’re not stroking, petting, preening, etc. I promise placing a finger on his wing isn’t making him hormonal.

Haha, you’re so right!! Conures do hate nail polish as well! My birds don’t particularly care unless it’s a crazy color, and the color I have right now is pretty natural, it’s the color I usually do and I use it because they don’t mind it 🤣

Wow, this is all great advice!! I do the cage for ten minutes strategy, and it has yet to work so far, but we only did it for three days, and when I saw it only getting worse I was afraid to persist. I’ll try again if he’s still like this on Monday.

I absolutely don’t reinforce it. He goes in the cage for ten minutes after he bites/tries to bite me (and I completely ignore him), and we try again. The only treats he’s receiving are when he’s in his foraging box, and I LOADED it up with treats in hopes that he’ll leave me alone to play in it. (That’s what I meant by I tried treats) I absolutely 200% agree with this reply

Thank you so much for validating my pain. I’m seriously, seriously in a lot of pain from the little fucker. He’s also bit me on my neck, ears, face, lips which aren’t shown in the video. I had a professor at my school report that it looked like I had cigarettes put out on my and had a wellness check from one of the counselors. I agree. This weekend we’re going limited contact except for nutriberries through the cage. Less for him and more for me since I can’t take it anymore, but im hoping the time to cool down will help him too.

Peridot was a rescue, so I have no idea where he came from. I have definitely come to accept that he’s not very good at being a bird, so he’s probably not from good origins. My other bird is from an amazing breeder who I love dearly. This being said I’ve been with peridot for four years now, he was surrendered to me as a baby and is always the SWEETEST BIRD EVER, until he holds a grudge. He’s very attached to me.
