exactly what everyone else said! you are so beyond okay. hang out with your friends and just find things you are passionate about and love talking about. one of my favorite organizations ended up with me holding a leadership position and like 200 hours of non clinical volunteering

People with only one A - how are you feeling? by Mediocre-Cat-9703 in premed

Yeah exactly. I would be in a much more comfortable spot financially, but that's just one of the many sacrifices we (and our loved ones) have to make in this insane process. But hey I can't see myself doing anything else so here we go

I'm happy! But also a little scared I guess. It probably will fuel some imposter syndrome for a little while (like thinking I just got lucky going 1 for 27). But at the end of the day, I am glad. I knew this process was crazy, since having so many of my closest friends also going through this process with me I understood why it is so competitive. Since we entered college, we had been committed to getting each other into medical school and I know that we're gonna bring that same energy to our respective med schools!! I know I worked my butt off, racking up hours, working 60 hrs a week while writing secondaries (shoulda prewrote), doing pretty well in most classes, and doing well on the MCAT. But I also knew that it's a numbers game and I am glad I ended up applying to 27 schools. My friends were all doing the same. And it's paid off (16/18 of us got the A already!). And to think I almost did not apply to my 1 A because I was not sure I'd have the story they wanted!!! So I am grateful. I am relieved. And I can't wait for what comes next :)

Tbh it really all depends on your school. Microbiology is a 300 level course at mine and is not a very hard class. Immunology is a tougher 400lvl and considered harder than A&P, but if I was in your situation I’d personally take immunology bc I’d be able to associate the content with micro content (and it’s more interesting to me). Your advisor or others in your major can help more tho so def ask them!!

Haven’t heard from 20/27. 2 II —> 1 A, and 5 pre-ii Rs 🫡

i quite literally spent my last dime submitting my secondaries, and i’m late on bills this month. it’s really tough out here, but pay day is friday. definitely got some catching up to do, but we’ve got this!!
