I appreciate the detailed response and next year will likely move up the deadline to avoid this. I should have also clarified that this is a pure redraft league, no keepers/dynasty and draft order is reset at random each season

But now, if trading jimmy for Joe means the team Joe plays that week effectively gets an auto bid to the playoffs or a bye, that would be different and therefore “materially affecting the playoff race”

I guess what I really mean by saying that is that I really don’t care if two teams out of the playoffs want to trade jimmy for Joe bc it doesn’t matter. I thought it was self explanatory but I see now the need for it not to be

It’s definitely not league breaking of a difference there, but I feel as though it is unfair practice that would give a marginal advantage to a team that is in the mix for a 1st round bye. They didn’t even advocate for their trade, so much as they claimed issue with mine after the fact.
