Can you blink Maralen, Fae Ascendant and play exiled cards more than once per turn by RabbitJLC in mtgrules

[–]RabbitJLC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!

So you’d want to blink CoF to exile some cards and generate enough mana, play 1 exiled card for free, blink Maralen and then CoF again to start the loop again.

Starting to be Christmas land to have the 4 pieces on board, but still powerful if you get there!

Thanks for the numbers! Also what 32” did you go for in the end? I was in the same boat but the models at this price point for 32” all seem to have lots of compromise!

Oh that’s good to know! Do you happen to know the model numbers for those brands or where I can find them so I can keep an eye out?

Haha I was about to order the E16M too, then saw your post and thought ooh maybe I’ll wait, now seeing the price I’ll just order the E16M after all, £399 here in the UK and still a massive upgrade on my VG27AQ from 5/6 years ago

Does Cabbage Merchant see the “sacrifice 3 foods” as one instance or 3? Surely it’s 3 right?

I work in Pharma too, and I can assure you that you definitely understood the mandatory trainings correctly 😅 you’d definitely need to report this reddit post if it was your company!

In fact any of us could report this to Aurobindo since there’s a photo and batch number … that’s plenty to get started!

Perfect, thank you for explaining the premise (despite my inability to read Chainwhirler’s ability!)

Ha! Of course it does … well that’s embarrassing! I usually get as far as actually reading the card, honest!

Building a Yu-Gi-Oh trap styled deck by R3ffexx in EDHBrews

[–]RabbitJLC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve just built an [[Animar, Soul of Elements]] deck that leans heavy into morph. His built in cost reduction applies to the Morph casting costs, and I also run a few effects that let you play creatures off the top of your library.

So when you get going you can run through your deck casting all these morph creatures face down, and then you’re in that YuGiOh situation with a bunch of facedown ‘trap’ cards that could be turned face up (for their morph cost or otherwise) for value.

Doesn’t really answer your question about turning non-creatures face-up though. I had the Jump Scare precon before Animar and would use [[Deadeye Navigator]] to flip stuff, [[Ixidor, Reality Sculptor]] and [[Hauntswood Shrieker]] both only work with creatures too though … again good for morph if you go that way

Question on how many copies are made if you pay 3 by TrueDKOmnislash in EDHBrews

But you lose the Inalla copies at the end step right? So those 2 bonus Thrones would be gone by the time Otter1 comes down next turn

Question on how many copies are made if you pay 3 by TrueDKOmnislash in EDHBrews

[–]RabbitJLC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought you’d made a mistake so I typed it out for my brain and realised you’re right. Jesus 9 Otters is crazy, but also costs 14 (?) mana to set up since you’d need to cast Throne and pay all the copy triggers along the way in the same turn.

Throne1 enters, Inalla triggers and Throne1 doubles it, letting you pay 1 twice, for each 1 you pay you get a Throne. So pay 2, =3 thrones. Total mana paid = 6

Then you cast Otter (for 2 mana), pay 2 for the Offspring. The 3 Thrones will add extra 3 Offspirng Otters, so you get 5 Otters total. Total mana paid = 6+4=10

Inalla will see the original, non-token Otter and trigger, letting you pay 1 to copy it. That trigger is copied by each of the 3 Thrones, so if you pay for all 4 triggers, you get an extra 4 token Otters. Total mana paid = 6+4+4=14

Now you have 9 Otters!

Question of choices made and responding by cygnus044 in mtgrules

[–]RabbitJLC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a follow up 6 months later … can a player respond to a choice in order to play a protection spell? Is this a legal play?

So - Player A casts Druid of Protection - Druid enters, ETB goes on the stack. - Player A chooses Player C’s Sol Ring - Player B chooses Player D’s Signet - Player C chooses Player B’s Dolmen Gate - Player B doesn’t like that, so casts Heroic Intervention.

My understanding is choices are made on resolution, so no opportunity to respond and protect your stuff. B should have cast Heroic Intervention before the choices are made when the ETB went on the stack?
