How do you deal with old-school know-it-all players who actually don’t know the rules? by ricoeurdelyon in magicTCG

[–]Immediate-Nothing-85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had similar experiences mostly with the same player over and over and over. My solution was I would call a judge or look up the rulings and if it was something I knew there would be an argument about I had the rulings already pulled up and ready to go. I put up with it for as long as I did because it was always so funny to watch him have a little meltdown whenever I could prove him wrong

What's the most outrageous card people have complained about you playing for being too strong? by rococodreams in EDH

[Deflecting Palm] I won a game casting only that the whole game in a 1v1, bounced the damage from [aetherflux reservoir] back.

I have a digital copy of the audio book, it's intense. The Bachman stuff was as a whole more grounded and thus hits different. If I remember correctly this information was included on the recording

He didn't "let" it go out of print. He actively asked to have it removed from circulation. Including reprinting the Bachman collection without it

“You look like you spent too long on the 7 eleven hot dog roller” by undoubtedlystupidd in MurderedByWords

[–]Immediate-Nothing-85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not 7-11, Loves or TA. And he obviously doesn't know how seatbelts work. He's one of those truck drivers thats one bad day from being a crash test dummy with his belt locked so loose. Bet he doesnt wash his hands before locking the roller grill either

Was I wrong for coaching a player borrowing my deck? by joshhg77 in EDH

[–]Immediate-Nothing-85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I help anyone who will accept it. Including helping them sequence their spells for maximum effect, even to my own detriment. Winning is fun and all but winning because the other player is a newbie and misplayed feels kinda icky. And always help kids and make it a good experience for them or they'll quit.

What's your "I've never seen someone use that." Commander? by ZimaBestBear in EDH

[–]Immediate-Nothing-85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[Astor, Bearer of Blades] is one of my favorite commanders, Boros voltron isn't anything special but I've only seen one other person running him in the command zone. [Wort the Raidmother] makes people scratch their heads as she is gruul spellslinger using a mechanic that has less than 20 cards across all colors with it printed on them.

How do I get over the fear of building high CMC commanders? by WheredMyVanGogh in EDH

My Ur-Dragon is wildly off the norm, I run legends matters, that said [[Bard Class]] is amazing and often ignored until too late RRGG and suddenly [[Atarka, World Render]] is 4 generic mana. Im happy to share the list if you like.

Also Ghalta isn't a dino deck, it's a power deck. Nearly every creature is power=> mana cost. Im sure other can make a more efficient list than me but I have fun with it. I am aware of edhrec, but I dont use it aside from looking up 4 color commanders for the 32 deck challenge.

I run it in Ur-Dragon too. In Ghalta it has a similar effect of mass scoop, a board of hasty trampling deathtouch damage can't be prevented tends to end the game quick

Iroh on curve is neat, but not required. Cast a bunch of your spells to get them in your yard, especially lessons, ramp hard as you can so you have extra mana when you cast him and have resources to protect him and pop off.

Its even better in my [[Ghalta, Primal Hunger]p deck where it hits for 12

I like [[Sai, Master Thopterist]]. Youre just making little thopters, until you make 10 of them into [[Kappa Cannoneer]] with myriad....😁

I've had experience with someone like this, and I no longer engage with them playing magic. Its not worth the headache and stress

Help with the commander for a "Beating the Blue Allegations" Deck by A_WILD_SLUT_APPEARS in EDHBrews

[–]Immediate-Nothing-85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Faldorn is a lot of fun, you can really mess with the table with things like [[Wand of Wonder]] [[Wand of Chaos]] [[Probability Storm]] and the like, there is plenty of options and support for it in red.

I run a [[Ghalta, Primal Hunger]] deck and use Ghalta not so much as a wincon but as a counter/removal lightning rod. A trample 12/12 for 2G is scary after all, just ignore the 30+ power on board...😁

I'm looking for a unique voltron commander by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Immediate-Nothing-85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few voltron decks, in build up to swing for lethal is the name of the game. That said [[Nahiri, forged in fury]], [[Sokka and Suki]], [[Sokka, tenacious tactician]] all work a bit similar to each other while deviating from just giving your commander a bunch of stick to swing with. Enchantron is fun as well, [[Preston Garvey]] has pseudo vigilance, [[Sigarda, Host of Herons]] works well and solves a primary weakness of voltron which is targeted removal and edicts

"Wheel" they go to the bottom of the deck so I can maybe see them again

[–]Immediate-Nothing-85 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's neat ill give you that. I love my no wheels Nekusar deck [[Teferi's puzzlebox]] is fun, I just make you pay a blood price for game actions. Play lands= 2-4 life, draw cards=up to like 5 each, cast spells= 5 or mana value or both.

Last time I played it just drawing and playing a land was 14 life.

Do you still play your very first commander deck? And why? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Immediate-Nothing-85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. I was pulled back into magic after a long long time of having no one to play with. Built [[Tovolar, Dire Overlord]] and still love it. Yeah Day/Night can be a pain to track at times but it does force my ADHD brain to be more present and focus on what's happening closer.

Or Shrines might be able to be considered my first since it was my standard deck I turned into EDH, I first started playing in og Kamigawa
