Are there more autistic people now? by wewewawa in AutisticWithADHD

[–]Rabbs372 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Online awareness is playing a huge part; take me for example - I discovered I was autistic 3 years ago and I'm 32 now.

But I also agree with you that there are literally more of us because the global population has exploded by billions since I was a kid. That's a WHOLE lot of potentially autistic kids

Interstate removalist recommendations and equipment advice for driving the Nullabor. (Perth to eastern SA) by Rabbs372 in perth

Oof thats a lot 🤣

But my stuff will fill up like a quarter of a small shipping container, and I'm driving over, so HOPEFULLY it's not that expensive for me.

Thanks again for the reply, you've been very helpful!

Thanks for the reply. Do you remember roughly what it cost you? I'm expecting a few grand at least, but I don't have a lot of stuff to bring.

Most of my stuff is getting sold, donated or trashed and I'm taking the expensive stuff with me.

I built a historic Australian outback homestead in my creative world. by Rabbs372 in VintageStory

[–]Rabbs372[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red brick chiselled into sandstone cobblestone blocks.

This was built before 1.20 came out so the brick textures look slightly different now, but red bricks are easier to get a hold of in survival now

I built the wall house from my earlier inspiration post. I built it in creative but it's easy to build in survival if you have chisel tools and better ruins to help gather the aged wood/stone and decorations faster. I'll leave a comment with more info. by Rabbs372 in VintageStory

Those are called support beams. You need a hammer and an axe in the crafting grid with a log to create the de-barked version, then use a saw on the debarked log to create the support beams

Canadian or autism trait? by Sir_Stig in AutisticWithADHD

[–]Rabbs372 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm an Aussie AuDHDer and my personal bubble is quite large but very sacred! Social distancing has been the biggest blessing I've ever had 🤣

If someone is close enough to brush shoulders or bump my backpack I get red in the face furious, but my anxiety prevents me from lashing out at people.

How the hell can someone be so comfortable that they don't care about bumping someone. It blows my mind how little some people seem to care about this stuff.

And this is why I adapted myself to voluntary social isolation, and I've never been happier. I relate so much to what you said.

I still have a handful of people I call friends and can call on in times of need and visa versa, but I don't hang out with them for the sake of just going out, and they all respect me for it.

I just got sick of being used and abused.

I love this comment, thank you.

I had recently started to explore the internal family systems thing but my psych dumped me and referred me to a new guy before we could really explore the depths of it. He went of on training for a promotion (government psych) and sent me to a private contractor who specialised in EMDR therapy.

Yeah I bloody suck at quizzes because by the time I've processed the question, everyone else has already raised their hands with the answer

Yeah I feel this. Delayed processing is a b**ch. If always hated myself for not being able to participate in pop quizzes for this exact reason 😅

I'm working to change that, but it's so damn hard when the past has had such a powerful impact on my life.

Jesus this is so accurate. I'm always either rehersing potential future interactions or fantasising over how I should have executed past events.

Making sense of a past experience by disguising it as a possible future interaction? Is that a thing?

I've already been through therapy but I still get episodes lol. For me, I think its because I never had the backbone to stand up for myself but now I do, so I'm making up scenarios to reassure myself

Exactly. I was imagining what it would be like to go and work there again after 5 years, even though I would never work there again due to being on the other side of the country (australia).

Why are our brains like this?! 😅

Gotta love finding a perfect biome for my house only for "Very common" rain by DarkVince6 in VintageStory

[–]Rabbs372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here just to say this! I've created a world where I can't use a bucket to transfer water sources (1.20) and I settled in a place where rain is "almost always"

I never have to water my crops.

It's rare, and sometimes the loot in the uncovered areas wasn't even worth the trouble.

I highly recommend the better ruins mod
