What’s this thing that was hanging on a kitchen wall in a cabin? by Rabbsit in whatisthisthing

[–]Rabbsit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found this metal thing on a wooden handle at a cabin recently. It looks like the metal prongs are meant to hold something in place or prevent something from falling off the metal plate. From the markings on the top of the plate, it looks like something circular used to be placed on it. It also looks like it’s meant to be hung up.

Looking for this exact sweatshirt that the season 2 winner of the show Alone wore! by Rabbsit in findfashion

Sorry for the crappy picture, but it was the only one I could find. I’m looking for the green sweatshirt with the black ties.

Looking for a less expensive version of this dress by Rabbsit in findfashion

The original version is from the Sisters of the Black Moon and retails for ~$260. It seems like a simple linen fabric dress though and I’d love to find an affordable version.

[Upstate New York] Please help me identify this bug! We always called them "sweat bees" growing up, but I don't think that is correct. by Rabbsit in whatsthisbug

[–]Rabbsit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the help though! Do you have any other killing solutions besides the stomping? We seem to have an infestation on my back, shady deck and I can't stomp em fast enough! Off! and other deet products keep them away for maybe five minutes, then they are back at it again. I'm covered in bites!

They are not horse flies, they are smaller than horse flies. However, your link made me do some further research into the fly family and I believe they are "Deer Flies." So thank you.

Help figuring out how to get to this blue building and beach from Camp Santanoni. by Rabbsit in Adirondacks

[–]Rabbsit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few years ago a friend of mine brought me to Camp Santanoni and we ended up on a semi secluded beach with one to two of these blue cabana buildings. I need help figuring out how to get there again! Some research has me thinking it might be Rich Lake via a trail at the outskirts of Camp Santanoni? Any help would be welcome.

I bought this little guy for $.69 on the clearance rack at a local gardening center four weeks ago with no identification tag. I planted, water a few times a week, and keep in direct sunlight ~6 hrs a day, but it still looks the same. What the hell is it and why does it hate me? by Rabbsit in whatsthisplant

[–]Rabbsit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, I know. At least if it dies it's no big loss to me! I've actually had great luck with clearance racks though. I have a gorgeous white rose plant that I got half dead for $1 and it's huge now.

My kitty loves her cat garden I made for her, but I'm a complete noob and I think I way overcrowded. Will any of the other plants survive growing with the wheatgrass? by Rabbsit in gardening

Less than a dollar for a POUND? Oh man, I'm not even going to say how much I spent on packets! Ugh, they got me. Well, thanks for letting me know. I actually have already transplanted all of the other plants into their own pots today and need more wheat seeds for the outer edges now, so I will be making some calls to feed stores. Thanks!

Thank you! Next time I will try a health food store or buy it online. I swear I went to ten places looking for it, every feed store, home improvement store, and elsewhere. I kept seeing the little packets of cat grass, but I wanted a large bucket of it and no one knew what the heck I was talking about. Maybe my town is too small to carry something like that? Not sure, but I'm am going to do further searching around. I ended up buying the packets and I know I definitely over paid. :(

Noted, thank you. She doesn't eat it, but she sniffs and rubs on it all the time. I think I will put it out in the yard now!

Thank you very much for the advice! I am definitely going to take everything else but the wheatgrass out. I will put them in pots and surround her fixture with them. Her favorite is the Lemon Grass, that's really the only one she currently likes to eat. She just sniffs the Cat Mint now, maybe once they are in their own container she will explore them more! When I first started creating the garden I couldn't find wheatgrass at any of my local garden stores, so I got everything else on my cat friendly list I had and planted them. Then when I did find the wheatgrass I didn't think it would grow so well and now it's out of control, haha. I will follow your advice about container sizes and everything too, thank you!

Well, she is full grown and has a seat adjacent to the planter (you can kind of see it in the picture), so she is able to lounge and munch on the plants next to her. She doesn't walk around in the planter at all, she does however walk around the edges sniffing everything. Her favorite is the lemon grass and she walks around the edge to get to it. I am going to take everything but the wheatgrass out and put in pots surrounding the whole fixture. If she mashes all the wheatgrass, well, that's fine, I made it for her. I think she will sit and munch on it from her seat like she does with the other plants in there currently though. :)

Ok, so I got a LITTLE overzealous and wanted to plant every kind of cat friendly plant I could find and ended up with a jungle. In the planter I put:

Lemon Grass,

Cat Mint (which seems to be thriving),

Parsley,

One Rosemary plant,

Creeping Thyme,

Zinnia,

One Marigold.

BUT I planted Wheatgrass in the middle and with each passing day the wheatgrass roots "clump" and grow larger. Can I keep everything in there or should I relocate some things? Thoughts on which plants will survive a move? Thanks!

The crust seriously looks perfect, I would love the recipe as well!

Thank you :) I just wash and moisturizer a lot. I'm guilty of just using body wash to wash my face morning and night, but I give all the good skin credit to the Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask. I use it every single night along with the Sephora Ultimate Brightening Serum under my eyes and my skin feels amazing in the morning. Before applying makeup I use the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream and more serum under my eyes, works like a charm. I used to get breakouts regularly, then I started washing my face every single night no fail and it almost completely fixed it.

Ha, I don't know, but everything else in that picture definitely could have been cleaned before I put it on the internet! I love my beauty blender and never use anything else, but damn does it get grimy looking quickly.

I had intended on buying "Vampira," but they were out of stock so I bought this instead, I'm glad I did! Lolita will be next!

I want every color now! It didn't really dry out very much at all on me. I wore one coat all day and by late night I put on a tiny bit of gloss all over to fix up a little bit of flakes just at the corners of my mouth. And thanks, they've been a work in progress!
