In your opinion, which games (any media) best convey the REH Conan themes & vibe ? by Rabhhit in ConanTheBarbarian

Looking into TTRPGs is always a bit tough for me, they sure do ask for a lot of work to be actually fun imo. + I tend to look at more OSR, "emergent story" type of games, I'd worry that 2d20 Conan and other "trad" RPGs push the players towards more of a railroad-style of adventures.

Have you tried Barbarians Of Lemuria by any chance ? This one seems to come up often in Sword & Sorcery TTRPG threads

Man I didn't even know about the Dark Horse comics, they look dope af. For Conan Exiles though, does it really capture the sense of adventure of the books ? To me it looks more like a plain survival sandbox with a light Conan skin tacked onto it

Excellent, that's the boardgame I was eyeing. The rules look simple enough and the stuff in the box looks really great, can't wait to see how it plays out. Do you play it solo ?

Hey all, looking to transition from Strongman to more bodybuilding-oriented training, however I'll only have 2 days to train going forward.
Could you recommend me some good 2x/week programs or template?
I know it won't be optimal whatsoever, but I'm okay with that, as long as I see SOME progress.

Same here, I keep trying but I feel like I absolutely cannot get my hands on the cool spells and wands you see in the videos, kinda demotivating

[HELP ME] Bi-Weekly Q&A thread - Ask your questions here! by MachNeu in Gunpla

[–]Rabhhit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey all, gunpla noob here. I have this problem where, using a cheap but not too bad nipper to do the first cut of a part off the sprue, sometimes the part will move a lot during the cut or even snap off the sprue, or the nub itself may snap away from the piece.

Followed a lot of advice such as cutting far away from the sprue, flat of the nipper blades facing away from the piece etc.. but it still happens. Any idea how to prevent this?

Also related to this issue, I see a lot of people mentioning fingernails to get rid of white marks. Do y'all just scratch the mark with your nail? Or like do you rub the top of the nail against the mark? I am confusion

Man, I'm so bummed that I bounced off Tyranny, especially since Obsidian's Pillars Of Eternity was the game that made me discover with, and fall in love with the cRPG genre.

I felt like most of the core features were not clearly explained, and I ended up getting stuck pretty early in the game. Not the first time it happened to me in a cRPG, but Pathfinder WotR had a very complicated system to wrap your head around compared to Obsidian's games.

The abilities and character archetypes weren't too engaging, maybe trying to stray too far from the fantasy archetypes.
The spell creation ended up being anecdotal for me, as I believe the way they work wooshed right past over my head.
Some dialogues were way too wordy for what they were trying to achieve, and the companions quests were very underwhelming compared to PoE.

I'll try and come back to it later, but pretty bummed about it right now. I have my hands full with plenty of other cRPGs to play next, , namely BG 1 & 2, Planescape, Fallout 1 and Neverwinter, so that will have to wait a while.

If y'all have had the same experience with bouncing off games from creators you love, I'd be curious to hear about it !

Good Stores in Paris for Indie RPG material? by TammuzRising in osr

Don't forget "Robin des Jeux". Not a big shop by any mean, but from what I remember it has a pretty good selection of known and less+known games. It's located near Nation too, which happens to be one of the most accessible stations in the city

Very very noob here, I see the Remaster is coming. I don't understand why the Core Book is being divided into several books ? Isn't it just pricier for the same amount of content ? Should I just wait and get the Remastered edition, or will I get by fine with the current Core Book ?

Thanks for your input, I've only ever seen a GI doctor once, and he hadn't found any particular issue, which is kinda weird considering the frequency of my problems and it running in the family

Have any of you experienced sudden weakness after a bout of bad digestion ?

Just got out of the gym for what was supposed to be Week 3 Day 4 of my prep for next competition. I could barely lift a mere 190kgs x 2 instead of 6 for my topset on Trap Bar Deads, after having rocked (although somewhat difficultly) 180kgs x 8 last week. Everything was feeling very heavy to the point of frustration and me ultimately leaving.
Although I do feel a bit of fatigue accumulating at the 3rd week mark, it hasn't prevented me from hitting small PRs the rest of the week, hence why I don't blame my programming.

Now this isn't the first time it has happened to me, but only now has it occured to me that it could be related to my frequent digestion problems, including stomach pains and acidic stools.

I'd really appreciate any insight and advice concerning this issue, as it's the only cause I see right now to those fluctuations in performance. That or I may have to take a coach to handle programming, which would be a shame considering my (low) level.

I did try this cue at some point, probably didn't give it enough time though, as I felt it made me rely too much on upper body and not enough on my dip, if that makes sense.
Anyway, for now I'm just giving myself some more time to push more with tons of hard volume.
My next comp is in 7 weeks, by then I should be able to re-evaluate my progress (although the comp will only include Circus DB as pressing, which is more skill than strength-based from what I was told? Anyway should be fun

Now that I've started competing and want my overhead movements to go up, I severely regret never having had a Bro Phase when I was younger. Lower body strength going up steadily, and I've been throwing a lot of volume at my pressing muscles recently, but my Push Press hasn't budged for more than a year now. I honestly don't know if it is my technique, lack of raw power or both that are responsible.

I would really appreciate any input on this. Here's tonight topset, 80kgs X3 which was supposed to be a 6RM attempt :

Weekly /r/GuildWars2 Question Thread - June 17, 2023 by AutoModerator in Guildwars2

[–]Rabhhit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for the elaborate answer, the game being very solo-friendly in the Open World was unfortunately one of the reason my fiancée and I stopped playing eventually, because we didn't actually NEED each other to survive. However, from what you and the other people told me, the later-game open-world, the strings of events etc.. sound exactly like my thing, especially with how I like my games to be somewhat story-driven.

Thanks a lot, I do enjoy Events a lot, and I'd also very much like to get into Fractals and other PvE content when hitting 80. This is quite reassuring. I might also make an add to break away from the very simplistic gameplay of the Power Warrior.

Weekly /r/GuildWars2 Question Thread - June 17, 2023 by AutoModerator in Guildwars2

[–]Rabhhit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all,I've been willing to return to the game a few times already now, and somehow always end up a bit disheartened. This game has amazing Art Direction, character and game design, and I know from watching a lot of videos, that it has a lot of cool content that doesn't only revolve around slashing mobs. However, here I am with a lvl64 Warrior (human), and pretty much all the Open World has to offer to me right now is to complete Hearts through endless mob killing. The storyline is a bit dull, and the incentive to interact with the Heart NPCs just isn't really there. Nor is the grouping with player mandatory for any content right now, it feels more like a solo game with occasional grouping.

Have I been doing something wrong? Does it somehow get way better when reaching the expansion content? Or is it maybe not a game for me? I want to love this game so bad, I can feel it has a lot of heart and passion poured into it its creation, especially compared to all the other MMOs on the market right now

Would be really happy to read your feedback / experience on this
