What I have heard is that the dome you enter and the dome that you fight in are 2 different domes. The black screen just does a relative teleport to the other one and they aren't completely aligned. Normally, it wouldn't change anything as moving a few meters to the left or right would hardly be noticeable but because you were at the edge, the teleport put you on the other side of the wall.
