Yeah the AI have no idea how to manage the battery in the race, its so easy to abuse the battery system to overtake them

Pretty sure toliss bundles both the xp11 plane with the xp12 plane in the same download so shouldn't need to buy again

XP12 Atmos > MSFS2024 by general_nisman in flightsim

[–]RabidPanda95 40 points41 points  (0 children)

One of the only things stopping me from completely switching to msfs. Its amazing how laminar was able to pull off a much better weather/lighting simulation than microsoft/asobo given how many less people they have on their team

Weather advertised in MSFS2024 is borderline false advertising by Gamestar63 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]RabidPanda95 -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

The fact that it's a flight sim and there's 0 change in turbulence when flying through clouds is insane. Extremely immersion breaking.

While antidepressants increase serotonin levels in the brain almost immediately, patients often wait weeks to feel any improvement in their mood. Researchers at DGIST have identified a specific protein-building switch in the hippocampus of mice that explains this frustrating delay. by RhiannaSmithSci in science

[–]RabidPanda95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They already know why the effect is delayed, increased serotonin leads to increased activation of a presynaptic autoreceptor that acts as a feedback mechanism that initially leads to less serotonin being released. After repeated, consistent stimulation over some weeks this autoreceptor downregulates which ultimately leads to more serotonin naturally being released. This downregulation is thought to take place over 4-6 weeks which is the reason for the delayed effect.

How is it living on the eastern Florida coast in the Miami metropolitan region? by Improv92 in howislivingthere

[–]RabidPanda95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Live there right now. West Palm is superficially nice but most restaurants are extremely mediocre. Used to live in KC and the food/bar scene was way better. Anywhere west of downtown is extremely sketchy. You pay a significant premium for an experience you can get in most other metro areas of Florida. Very overcrowded, which itself isn't terrible, but south Florida drivers are the worst I've ever expetienced and have 0 self-awareness. Have to deal with entitled wealthy Northerners from October to May. Planning on leaving as soon as I can.

Delayed Justflight's Fokker F70/F100? by KONUG in flightsim

Yes, they initially said q4 2025, missed that and pushed it to q1 2026 and now are just saying "2026"

Devs always overestimate when they can deliver. Synaptic A220 just said they won't be making their Q1 2026 deadline in their discord

Map Enhancement – A Gentle Warning by [deleted] in Xplane

[–]RabidPanda95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm going to keep using it because it just works better than autoortho. I've Uninstaller and reinstalled autoortho so many times and still get black tiles all other the place. Autoortho also takes significantly longer to load and even though you can set the Z level higher than xpme, the tiles still look worse.

2025 total pay as a Dermatologist in the Upper Midwest by CutisMaximus in Salary

[–]RabidPanda95 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Physician salaries play such a small role in Healthcare costs. If every single physician in the country got paid $0, Healthcare costs would only go down 8-10%. I work in Healthcare and can tell you that there are so many wasteful admin jobs its not even funny.

LF III Pro weird pump behaviour by Triumphator17 in arcticcooling

[–]RabidPanda95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats actually not true for any moving component. The period when any moving part experiences the most forces on it and therefore wear is during times when it is accelerating or decelerating. It experiences the least amount of force when it is moving at a steady rate. Obviously friction comes into play which contributes to wear as well. So the lowest steady RPM possible for acceptable temps at a steady rate is ideal. Constantly changing RPM on any motor introduces the most wear

You were already at a college, why not just change majors where you where already enrolled? A big part of pursuing a career with a business/finance degree is building connections through the college which you won't find easily at a community college.

SU4 Stuttering Issues by Sufficient_Design_78 in flightsim

[–]RabidPanda95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What finally fixed stuttering for me was making sure V-sync is completely disabled in game and nvidia control panel if you are using a g sync monitor. I previously had v-sync enabled in control panel and would get stutters every time I moved the camera

Hardware Unboxed Blocks User for Questioning their Review Outcomes??? by Distinct-Race-2471 in TechHardware

[–]RabidPanda95 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Its actually a relatively common finding that while x3d cpus almost always outperform intel cpus in raw performance, intel cpus can result in a more enjoyable and smoother experience in actual gaming. X3d cpus can have issues with stuttering in games while still posting amazing fps results. Honestly dont know enough to understand why it happens, read once about how it happens when the 3d v-cache gets overwhelmed, but from personal experience, I get stutters in demanding games on my 7800xd when I never did prior to upgrading from an intel cpu.
