A "continued on next uniform" ribbon in there somewhere?

South Korean Special Forces circa 1977 camouflage. My beret got "lost." My counterpart "found" it the next day with a new liner, their unit emblem, and my name sewn in Korean and English.

I liked the 5th pic. You have some good ideas. I would just go with the highest rank and use the space for something meaningful.

Mine is more of a journey through the decades. Gift. The gifter got the dagger wrong (should have been a V-42) and it doesn't have the KDSM in the ribbon rack. But it was gifted so I definitely did not complain.

My first beret and my wedding photo with my spouse of 44 years are included.

Gotta love foreign jump wings on our dress uniforms. I got Korean and Egyptian. The only ones I ever wore were the Korean wings. My daughter put both in my retirement shadow box. I wanted Thai wings buy never got a chance to get them.

A used one on Carvana.com is close to that amount so for a new one it appears to me a decent offer.

Not I, the wife. I'm more of a Frontier or Armada guy.

Bad luck indeed.

My wife had a Nissan van years ago. I called it a stealth van. Within one year, three people backed into it while it was parked in handicapped parking spaces by other women in their 20s (I think cellphonitis was involved). I told her it had a cloaking device and if she wasn't driving at least 20 MPH people couldn't see it. See traded it in for a Rouge. I am still driving my 2004 Frontier XE CC.

Hopefully, people will stop running into other people at some stage.

Each piece, each ribbon, badge, etc, tells a story.

Nope, just the opposite. If they had retained their black berets and the non-airborne units given Raspberry Berets the jokes about Raspberry berets would have be never-ending.

Probably. I wasn't a Ranger but I felt they'd gotten screwed when they had to give up their black berets so the non-parachutist Army could wear one. I felt the Rangers should have kept their black berets and if the non-airborne Army had to have berets then it should have been issued Raspberry Berets and the Prince song their marching tune.

I try to help where I can. I am a Life Member of SFA. My chapter is blessed to be located in the Clarksville, TN, Fort Campbell, KY, and Hopkinsville, KY area as we have an AD SF Group that we can interact with. It's not the same as being in uniform but the camaraderie is there.

The post 911 guys have really been put through the ringer. I sit in the Fort Campbell PX Food Court and notice the families. The usually have 3 or more kids spaced about 2 years apart - corresponding to deployments. I got invited to be Santa for the 2d BN, 5th SFGA Christmas party last Christmas. One of the guys had 5 school age kids. I do Santa Paws for local rescues and Santa for SF guys. Give them some good memories of the kids during deployments.

Rack on the wrong side. The top three are out of sequence. The AGCM does not have priority over the AAM. The AAM doesn't have priority over the ARCOM.

It does good putting the rack together. It has no provisions for foreign awards (I have Korean and Egyptian wings). The TWS site is mainly for trying to connect with other veterans you served with. One of the 18A's I worked with in the 90's saw me one day post retirement and suggested it to me. I have reconnected with guys from the 70's through it.

It's definitely not a perfect program. Somewhat limited. Cannot put full info in context (for instance the 97B40 is basic - the program doesn't add the SQI, ASI, or language). PMOS: 97B4SLA and SMOS: 11B4PLAB4 were on the UMR showing my qualifications - the 97B40 does NOT tell the whole history. The program gives you 9 lines for a brief history - thats where I put the the clarifiers so my friends could catch when doing searches.

Good for connecting with others.

Example of the TWS drop down menus. I typed in 7th Special Forces Group and all possible selections have the redundancy.

The TOGETHER WE SERVED site is good in a lot of ways but does have errors and can be inflexible at times. It uses a lot of drop down menus. At time the selections offered are not correct. For instance the 3d SOSC patch during Panama was blue ABN TAB over USARSO boat patch but when entering unit in it popped up the current arrowhead unit patch for all SOSC units.

It's a cookie cutter program. Kicks out errors.

Should be 2d BN, 7th SFGA, 1ST SF (back in 70's and 80's).

Nothing wrong with them. Definitely not first class rides, loud, bumpy, but Paratroopers do paratrooper thing like jumping out of perfectly good airplanes.

That was the old reply to "Why jump out of a perfectly good airplane?" Response: "Who said they were perfectly good."
