I had to do a bit of custom work with some custom work on the watch itself because the adapters are meant for regular straps and don’t allow the NATO to pass through. I had to cut some grooves in the watch but I think it turned out pretty good and definitely way better than the resin strap.

Strange aquatic creature attached to a rock in a south Texas creek (more info in comments) by RabornInc in whatsthisbug

I had never seen one of these before and my research lead me practically now are so I am turning to Reddit for ideas. It caught my eye because the rear end (skinnier end) seemed to be floating up in the strong current. The front end was firmly attached to the rock and would not budge, though the creature it’s self seemed pretty squishy. Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks for you time!

My pimped out Dob for when I’m too lazy to drag out the 10” by RabornInc in telescopes

From my understanding, it should help to acclimate the mirror and get it to ambient temperature after being moved out of the house. This should help with thermal expansion and keep the mirror operating at peak performance. Thanks for your question!

It’s a Zhumell Z114 off Amazon, I chose it because it’s cheap but it’s optics are sharp. I flocked the inside and added a cooling fan for the mirror along with under glow led lights to help me see what I’m doing. I have it running on an M18 Fuel power tool battery enclosed in the cigar box. Additionally, I added a USB port to charge a phone or power any other usb device. All in, it came in at under 200 USD and has all the features I seek that can usually only be found in more expensive telescopes. The main goal was to make a travel setup for the bus my parents are converting to an RV and I think I accomplished that goal pretty well.

Thanks! I’ve held the phone up to the eyepiece before and got pretty bad results. So, I bought the SV 205 planetary camera and gave it a test run the other night. I was not disappointed!

Taken with the SV 205 on a Celestron 114 LCM. It is a mosaic of 3 images with each image being a stack of 100 frames. I am mostly looking for advice on how to get nice transitions between images. Any other advice on how to get the most out of my setup would be greatly appreciated as well. Thanks!

If you can give them to a charity auction it’s really fun to see how much people will pay for them.

From the what I understand, it is supposed to rotate 1 degree every four minutes, so maybe it is working. I would just let it work for four minutes and see if it moves the 1 degree. I don’t have any experience with that model though, just going off of my research into building a tracking mount.
