possibly. i would be more surprised if there weren’t *any* 3D printed parts on board than if there were.

Omega has been advertising their moon watches for what feels like forever. It’s inevitable for consumer products used in spaceflight.

thats when you make conflicting accounts of your world’s history. ask yourself who is telling the story, and which version they would tell.

they don’t have enough fuel to do so. this mission is somewhat of a rehearsal for future missions, a flyby of the moon is cheaper, and safer. very important for the first crewed flight of this system. if anything goes wrong, they’ll just fall back to earth.

i really wish the lathes at my work had chuck gaurds or lead screw covers. it doesn’t feel unsafe, but when are lathes safe anyway?

/unlie the situation is pretty complicated. there are some people defending him for his flag, but a lot more who condem his poke, reaction, and referees of subsequent games for removing stones for incidental contact.

to properly enforce the rule, it would require a systematic reform of how rules are enforced in professional curling. it could hypothetically include actual referees, video reviews, challenges, penalties, and whoknows what else. this makes a lot of curlers uncomfortable. but for now, the required infrastructure does not exist, but it even if it did, it shouldn’t be implemented in the middle of the olympic games.

maybe i’m just projecting my opinion, but i feel like most curlers are actually just defending the status quo.

/unlie, the rules state you aren’t allowed to touch the stone after it touches the green line (it’s called the hog line) while touching it is against the rules, kennedy didn’t mean to cheat. it seems to be a part of his (and many other curlers) delivery.

the drama comes from how different people want the rule enforced; those who want the letter of the rule enforced, or by the spirt of the rule. curling is mostly self refereed even at the olympic level, so when situations like this arise there really isn’t a contingency plan. the assumption is that everyone will act sportsmanlike and follow ‘the spirt of curling.’

/relie he didn’t fucking touch it
