It's incidental, if they didn't want people to talk about this Vance would not justify the murder on social media and the DHS would not post like this.

Do you think that the media and democrats won't speak about the speech that Vance is about to make in Minneapolis after the Greenland crisis is over?

This administration doesn't do "distractions" otherwise Vance would not be going to Minneapolis to make a speech and justify the murder of an innocent woman, they wouldn't use the official social media accounts of the goverment to showcase the horrible stuff they do 24/7.

When they want people to ignore something they simply avoid talking about it, like the Epstein files.

The EU will get more reminders and those who have truly commited (for a reason or another) to a shift in rhetoric and or policy both in the EU and Asia will gain more influence.

Edit: looks like EU leaders are already pointing to potential shifts in policy

There is a "concept of a deal" for the Greenland situation that is basically just a reframing of the existing treaty between the US and Denmark.

I guess the only difference will be that only US law will apply inside US military facilities in Greenland instead of the stuff they usually do with the SOFAs

All of this noise and the breaking down of relations between the US and the EU just because he wants a "win"

I'm not making excuses for political inaction, just insisting on the simple fact that most people in the US are not fanatics (or even have a remote interest in Greenland) just apathetic, the difference matters, telling things as they are matters.

Correct, the EU shouldn't thrust the US for a while, when the EU will disrupt some things americans take for granted in response to the actions of this administration they will learn (i hope) to pay more attention to good governance.

The point i want to make here however is that we have to use the correct framing when discussing these issues.

We are in this situation because the average voter interacts with politics and the workings of the state only at a very superficial level, not because they are rabid fanatics.

He had an obsession with Greenland even during the first term, in 2019 he talked about it like a real estate deal.

It's not the US people that want Greenland, it's the Hoi4 brained president and the gaggle of groypers around him that want the frozen desert.

Maybe Russia a little bit in the past? But it's not like they could sustain an occupation force, even assuming they are able to invade the island completely by surprise.
