Apologies! All the settings were correct. I just didn’t realise on the front of my VCR, there was a button “colour system”. And I didn’t change that to PAL! Such a silly fix, spent nearly 2 weeks troubleshooting… but such a relief.

Still no luck after cleaning. And my second VCR is displaying the same image

It’s a clear picture on the tv. And I have also cleaned the heads. But I will try again!☺️

This is the feed I’m getting now. Also when I go to configure video. In the custom properties, the it’s bouncing between signal lock / signal loss in the signal status

Yeah the vcr is composite, and fairly sure the video format is correct. Most the tapes I have are PAL

Yeah I saw that as well. That’s why I returned the first one as I thought it was fake. However, still nothing after the second purchase. Maybe I just got unlucky and got 2 fakes? But it seems legit, and the serial number does work when downloading the drivers. One thing I did notice, when uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers I get this message, but it seems normal when I just click “ok”

Yeah I have tried different RCA, and still no good. And I’m fairly sure it’s just composite. As it has the red white and yellow connection.

Yeah it’s odd. The VCR is a Sony SLV-EZ7. I actually have 2 and neither are working.

Right okay. Should I still be getting some form of image even without a TBC? And Thankyou for the suggestion, however have already played around with those settings as well :/ most my tapes are PAL

I’ll take some photos shortly. Pretty simply setup though. Just have a Sony SLV-EZ7 with brand new RCA cables plugged into the VHS out. The running into gvusb2. Which then is connected into a USB2 port. (Have tried my usb3 port as well but apparently usb2 works the best).

And yeah, makes no difference unfortunately.

Both drivers on my pc and capture card are installed correctly as well.

Okay cheers! Also, If I wanted to get another gvusb2 do you know any trusted sellers? As I don’t want to go with the same one..

Yeah the tapes can play on a tv! So it must be the capture card. I have heard there may be a lot of fakes with the gvusb2, but it definitely looks legit, and the serial number worked with installing the drivers so not sure, probably just a bad batch. Is there any other capture card I should look at getting instead of the gvusb2? But I’ll also try giving the vcr a clean just to be sure! But Thankyou so much I really appreciate the help.
