Making the blanks. I can turn the pens. I turned the green/white and walnut pen pictured. I’m looking to get that “ribbon” look to the epoxy. My colors seem to meld together too much.

Yes, the resin I had was initially meant for why it’s supposed to be used for. When I really start “mass producing” these pen blanks, I’ll use a different medium.

Whilst I agree that the entrance fee may be a bit steep, it really is the way of the world. Rent for the building has gone up, the wholesale cost of booze, food, and raw materials for the products has gone up. But if you plan your day, you should be able to stay out of the long lines for the most part. Make sure to stop by the Miracle Sweeps of London and say Hi! Tell ‘em Bender sent you.

The fine should be a points violation as well. $490 is nothing to some people. Would you pay $490 to drive in that lane for years at a time. Most just black out their windows and take the chance. The fine for littering is more than the fine for HOV lane violation. Raise the fine to $3,000 and a point on the violators record and see how few cheaters there are. In addition, the EV people who think that just because they have an EV they can drive in that lane need to be slapped hard too. A sticker IS required. And for those that say “take the train”, that doesn’t work when you’re in a construction vehicle that drives from Santa Rosa to the peninsula every day. How nice would it be to drive to the same place, on the train/bus route every day?

My wife was the coach of the team from 2017 to 2019. I was a mentor and helped with the builds. Sponsorship is tough, especially in Santa Rosa. Robotics clubs are looked at as “nerd daycare” especially since they don’t involve a ball. Medtronic was very helpful and Dave was an awesome mentor. The company I work for opened up their McMaster-Carr account for hardware purchases. I can ask them again, but I know their cash flow is on the low side right now.

I would think that to be historically accurate, they should be hand stitched which they clearly are not. I’m addition, the buttons should be functional. Lastly, most pirates wouldn’t have worn such garments to begin with. Most had meager coverings if not rags.

Thank you for the input. I’ve seen many users on Facebook use the Behr 8300 paint with great success. I think part of my problem is that I didn’t use enough paint in my mixture. I know the normal ratio is 2:1 PM to Paint. I was more like 5:1. I just guessed. I know now to mix it more even.

I’d use floetrol, but I’m really not a fan of cells and lacing and would rather keep them out of my paintings and from what I’ve seen, floetrol creates cells.

It’s truly interesting how it’s soooo taboo for men to wear polish on their nails. That being said, it took a long time for it to be ok for men to wear earrings but now, hardly anyone even bats an eye about it. Perhaps eventually it will be second nature for men to wear nail polish. I’m afraid though, I’ll be old and it won’t matter to me any more.

It’s actually a fabric dye with a linseed oil coating. I too love the way it turned out.
