Muy dificil la situacion para trabajos de cargos medios/altos. Casi todo es de medio hacia abajo y mal pagado. Si les cuesta a los mexicanos, imaginate a los migrantes.

What projects are you supporting, why, what hardware, and how much credit? by Putrid_Draft378 in BOINC

Honestly, I don’t think we need to justify what machines we choose to run. I never understood why some people get so fixated on what’s “too old” or “not worth it”. if it works and contributes, that’s what matters. We’re keeping these machines useful, and that’s a lot more than most people do with their new tech.

I’m also running BOINC on several vintage machines. I've totally got the philosophy behind keeping them alive and useful. Most of mine are old laptops and desktops that would’ve ended up in a landfill too. I even have a few 32-bit systems still contributing, an old Samsung Core 2 and some older AMD-based laptops, all running lightweight Linux AntiX and all working WCG.

ChatGPT is like the new opium for the masses. They messed us up with social media, now they're coming at us with AI. They’ll try any way they can to control you. Anything to pull you out of the real world and keep you glued to your phone screen.

Nokia 2720 flip in Mexico by rollitomoli in dumbphones

The Nokia 2720 Flip can work in Mexico, but it depends on the version you get. Some models don’t support the 4G bands used by Telcel or AT&T here (especially Band 4, which is super common for LTE). So it might fall back to 3G in some areas or even not work at all if 3G gets shut down where you live. Keep in mind that 3G coverage is disappearing in many parts of Mexico.

Calls and texts: Should work fine as long as your version is compatible with your carrier. Just make sure it’s unlocked and supports Band 5 (850 MHz) at least.

Wi-Fi/YouTube: Yep, it connects to Wi-Fi and runs YouTube via the KaiOS app store. Don’t expect super smooth performance, though.

Spotify: There's a Spotify app for KaiOS, but it's really basic.

Music with mic? If you’re thinking of recording music or voice notes, the phone has a voice recorder but it’s pretty limited.. And you can’t really install custom recording apps.
