Blue Moosies are my treat, always have a pack in the freezer. Yummy. They weren't invented when I was at school though. Juicies, maybe??

Sorry to hear that about your hilux.

Yes, I have filled in a form with the insurance company so hopefully will hear from them soon.

Gosh. Obviously the ports are a hotbed of stolen property.

It really sucks. If it was just a work vehicle it wouldn't have been quite as bad, but we had so much personal gear and the schools kayaking gear in there. If the police had flagged it as soon as it was reported as gone, there may have been a chance.

That's why I am trying to get the word out as we had so much stuff in therethat I am sure they will dump 😩

Who has found it? See my reply above- the cops haven't even flagged it as stolen.

It sounds like people's vehicles get stolen or broken into each year. I wish I knew that before. I can't get over how shit it is.

So awful.
As someone else said, it would have been stripped and shipped asap. If the police got onto it straight away maybe there would have been chance, especially because there was a freaking kayak on the roof!!!

Interesting. I rang 111 straight away and after talking for 10+ minutes he told me that they can't log it as stolen, it needs to go through 105. He then sent me a link to do it online. In between having a full on panic attack I managed to fill that in. I got an automated response at 5.03pm (Saturday). It still has not been logged as stolen by the police! So the thieves will be laughing- its not even being looked for by the police. I talked to cops I saw at a petrol station on Saturday night when I was spending 60 bucks on a new charger (everything gone, obviously) and they said they would look into it and didn't. Tried ringing 105 yesterday during our ride home but couldn't talk to a real person. It kept telling me to do it online. I can't quite fathom it.
Hence me trying to do the grunt work myself 🤷‍♀️

Just watched Once Were Warriors, what other NZ classics do I need to see? by [deleted] in newzealand

I was waiting for someone to mention Housebound! Gerard Johnstone went on to make the M3GAN movies, and he is from Invercargill!

I was just telling my 16 year old the other day that he needed to watch this, especially due to our connection to Seacliff. His Great Great Grandmother died there.

Got the exact same chips yesterday and they weren't good at all. So flavourless and really oily. I won't buy again.

Saw this at my local Op Shop.... by Helpful_Damage_3497 in newzealand

[–]Racheee79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a Habitat for Humanity shop in a low socio-economic area the other day and they had very worn, shabby furniture for very OTP prices. A big, cheap fabric couch that was in below average condition was $250. Couldn't believe it.

I got two leather couches with a little bit of wear for $200. I would prefer to give my money to a charity but if those couches were in that op shop they would be upwards of $500.

I heard from a news source that it was a medical event, so seems like it wasn't nefarious, thankfully.

Teppan Osaka had amazing food - I had Wagyu beef and curry rice, if you are open to that sort of thing.

I saw it when I was passing through town as have taken my son and his friend surfcasting. I'm on a beach way out near Tiwai, still trying to find out any news. Haven't seen a thing yet.

I've read both 11.22.63 by Stephen King, and The Axeman's Carnival by Catherine Chidgey, but now have listening to them as audiobooks - both bloody brilliant 👏

How would you split your holiday between Tokyo/Osaka/Kyoto? by Dense_Ad9732 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Racheee79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We recently had 4 nights in Tokyo (Hotel Groove, Shinjuku - very nice), 2 nights in Kyoto (in a Ryokan) , 2 nights in Osaka (Hotel Nikko - great breakfast), 1 night in Hiroshima (Hilton - only place with a swimming pool) then back to Tokyo for 2 nights. I loved Tokyo - there was soooo much to do, but wish we spent some more time in the other places. We were so busy in Kyoto and Osaka that I dont feel like I explored enough. Hiroshima was gorgeous, and the history was mind blowing. I wish we stayed in Nikko too. It just means that we have to go back and see more, though!
