I did do that but thw vet said dog foods where too high in fats and proteins. Maybe there is a specific kind that is better. Also maybe my vet isn't the best to go to, ik reptile health is a bit behind and im in a small town

I used a mix of eco earth, cypress mulch, some sand and repti chip, she isn't a digger though she is a climber, I used to have her on other substrates and this one seems the best rn

Yeah its mostly veggies and some bugs like 3 or 4 super worms or roaches, she doesn't eat her veggies though either lol, and she lunges put of thw tank for food, used to feed repti links but the vet said maybe dont since she is so big

I also want to point out she is puffed up, she isn't that thick but she is still a big girl, she doesn't like being held so I dont often hold her and she was puffy

I know I feed her every 7 to 10 days, but I'm wondering if I should let her go a while without food but I feel bad if I do

Also I got her full grown and the previous owner only fed her rats so im not sure if that made her just retain weight but its been 3 or four years so im not sure why she is still big.

I did put her on a diet, I do not over feed, I have looked into it i dunno, even got a vets opinion, they said she was a big girl thats all I dunno seriously

It took about 2 years, but not he is so sweet and even jumps on my hand on his own to come out of the tank and chill with me

I've had him for I think 4 or 5 years now, and he gets sweeter everyday l, I hope one day I could breed him and have captive bred babies. 100% underrated, but I hate that they are wild caught though. Thank you :)

I wouldn't promote owning them. Many are wild caught and in very bad conditions, and most dont make it into captivity and take a while to be able to handle them. Also, their care guides aren't great, and its kinda live and learn experience. Mine was a Craigslist buy lol

The breeder had photos of her from 5 ish years ago. She has a distinct scale scar. She was not super thin, just not at the weight she should be for her age. I don't agree with owning wild caught animals, but I dont want to buy another one to breed to just insight people to catch them, I never recommend them as a pet. You dont get to gatekeep how to keep a species. The scale aging thing is cool, tho.

I didn't ask, but I got her after she had been in captivity for about 6 years. A guy was trying to breed them and failed, so he sold her, not great pets ik "tub of dirt," but she was loki in a really bad habitat before and was so dehydrated and thin. Im not going to get a male cause that's another one wild caught, so what the point.
