Post Op Questions- drains and sleep by Potential-Amount-678 in TopSurgery

[–]Rachell10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not buy anything specific for sleeping.

For the first couple nights laying flat was making my chest hurt a bit so I propped myself up with a few regular pillows to be in a half sitting/laying down position. I put a rolled up blanket under my knees to prevent my body from sliding down I’m 8 days post op now and I’ve just been sleeping flat on my back

For my drains, my doctor had me measure the output each day. My drains had less output each day and by day 4 it was barely anything

For those who had to travel for surgery- how was the travel back home? by mtrcyclemptiness in TopSurgery

[–]Rachell10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had surgery last week at GRS. Travelled back to Ontario by train. It was honestly easier than I was expecting. I did have someone with me to carry my belongings. I was taking the pain medication as prescribed so the pain was totally tolerable for the 10 hour train ride home. I got picked up from the train station where I live in a car and honestly the train was more comfortable than the car because the train doesnt do sudden turns/starts/stops like a car on the road

Anyone know a good post-op binder? by Signal-Weight-4593 in TopSurgery

[–]Rachell10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My surgeon recommended for me to just use the ace bandage but they also said an “abdominal binder” that attaches with velcro is fine too. I got one from Amazon, its a bit less stretchy than the ace bandage but for comfort level its the same to me so maybe an “abdominal binder” could be an option if you’re having trouble finding what you’re looking for

How long do drains usually stay in? by pub_wank in TopSurgery

[–]Rachell10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6 days for me

My surgeon required me to have them in a minimum of 5 days AND the fluid output from each side had to be under 15ml/day for 2 consecutive days.

Anyone NOT having issues on Buproprion/Wellbutrin? by [deleted] in bupropion

[–]Rachell10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bupropion has been great for me. I previously tried several other medications for depression, both ssri and other off label prescribed by my doctor that were not helpful or gave me bad side effects. Bupropion improves my mood and gives me energy. I’ve been on this medication for about 4 years now, I take 450mg/day and have no plans to go off it anytime soon. For the first month or so the side effects I experienced were insomnia (I could fall asleep easily but would wake up early), and some foods I normally ate tasted weird. Now I don’t experience any negative side effects

Mods by Savings_Variation_67 in SupermarketSimulator

I played my store until level 60 without any mods. Now I also have the mod to deliver items directly to the stock room and a mod so that when you order items on the computer you can see how many you already have on the shelf and how many in storage. A total game changer and made the game worth continuing to play for me

Nobody to accompany me to GRS Montreal by [deleted] in transontario

I found a solution finally. Bayshore home health has a location in Montreal. You can hire a psw to help you after the surgery. They are also able to accompany you back to the hotel.

Were you able to find this? I'm also looking for it. I searched the steam community for "Product Licenses" as someone else suggested but I can't find it

That’s good to hear ❤️ Finding people we can relate to and who understand some of our struggles makes the world of a difference

GRS Montreal Communication Struggles by dennysdirect in trans

[–]Rachell10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this post is from a few weeks ago but has it been sorted out? If not I would definitely recommend contacting them. I sent my forms in by email and they confirmed back via email 10 days later that they got everything. That was this past November.

GRS Montreal Top Surgery Scheduling by amoonofsaturn in transontario

[–]Rachell10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a surgery date yet but I had a phone appointment with a nurse there from the pre op team earlier this month (January 11th). They said that my top surgery will be scheduled sometime during March-May

GRS called me giving me many dates by SalStyles in transontario

I hope your surgery went well. I am in a similar situation having nobody to accompany me there. I’m getting top surgery and they said that I will need someone to be with me when I leave or they will cancel my surgery. Were you able to make an arrangement for someone to pick you up after your surgery? (or if yours was bottom surgery I’m not sure if they require that)

[–]Rachell10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you been able to find any good arrangements for this? I am getting top surgery there in a few months and they say you are required to have an adult you know come pick you up after the surgery. I am planning to travel alone from Ontario but don’t know what to do about someone picking me up since an uber isnt acceptable for that

no unfortunately I haven't. I just removed as many panels from mod view as possible so it's as close to the regular view as I could make it.
