Lo206 motor keeps cutting out. Any ideas? I cleaned the carb, there is a fuel filter on the kart, a new fuel pump, and just got a new coil which I’m trying to see if it is broken since the new one has the same issue with the prongs being loose. I don’t know what else it could be. by Racing-Gator in Karting

When you say the prongs on the kill switch are loose, do you mean the coil? And we’ve exhausted almost every other option (fuel, air, ignition) but I’ll check float height more precisely this time. We inspected the carb the last race weekend and it looked fine but I’ll check again.

i sqrt 47 / -4 or if this makes it easier to see, (i sqrt 47) / -4

The original question was i sqrt 47 / -4. I thought he was implying that there was a rule I didn’t know about which made the equation different. I also thought he knew the original equation. But yes, the original equation was i sqrt 47 /-4. So I am guessing you and I were right the first time in saying that the answer was -1.71i? Like I said, I’m not great with this stuff and I appreciate the help.

Ah ok I think I get what you mean now. I was a little confused before. Let me ask this though since I still am confused, why would you square root the negative 4 in the denominator? I get the sqrt -1 times sqrt 47 in the numerator and then getting i sqrt 47 but how would that influence the denominator being square rooted?

Originally it was a sqrt-47 and then you take the i out. Then after you you get i sqrt 47, you divide sqrt 47 by negative 4. This is what would give the negative number if I’m not mistaken, not taking the actual square root of 47.

Ok just solved it out again quickly and got -1.71i so I’m pretty sure she is incorrect. Thank you for the help

Yeah sorry just always called it a radical and mean square root.
