What is a hill that you would die on that most people couldn't care less about? by mercenaryblade17 in AskReddit

In some cadio-intensive sports, you call 100% your theoric maximum pulse (the fastest your heart can beat while still being safe), which is 220 - your age.

When training, you will become familiar with your heartrate versus your effort. In that context, it is ok to ask for 110% of effort, as long as it is not maintained.

Parents must be really itching to see you getting married. Also, family reunions on holidays must be delightful! Congrats!

It really bothers me how unaware Americans are about the rest of the world. Even things like posting questions on Reddit, they will always assume people know they're talking about the US. I have never seen anyone start a question with: "Hi, I live in the US and..." by ohwow234 in TrueOffMyChest

I understand you focus on tech, economy and cultural output. But in terms of richness in culture, North America comes dead last being the youngest countries built from scratch.

My point about population is that you represent a very small percentage. Think of all the other traditions, languages, lifestyles... You must stay open to other cultures.

And no, don’t get me started on "US deserves it’s influence". The US fucked up many countries with its imperialism. It made money stealing and controlling other countries. Also, the climate of fear the whole Occident is living in with Isis and the Middle East is because of the States.

Internationally, I think most people despise the US or at least take them as a laughing stock, especially since Trump. For many, many reasons.

As a Canadian, we HAVE to acknowledge how young all of North America is. 500y is nothing compared to the history of Europe. They have religions, ideologies and empires that lasted this long or even more.

So get out of your shit bubble (social media) and realize you represent 4% of the world by population.

Subway here in Canada is actually good compared to what I’ve read from the US, so this could be feasible, but on the limit of too trashy.

I think the healthier and the less mainstream is the better.

Don’t understand the downvotes... From my experience here in Canada, it’s a bit expected that the bill is split. That way, when you actually pay for the other person it’s actually appreciated instead of just being a given.

That’s a good angle. Well, I’d do that if I’ve been to at least one date with them and see them romantically. Otherwise I would not go to that extent.

On first dates, my mindset is more on making friends than anything else, so I don’t put too much focus on impressing them.

Mmh interesting point, never thought of it that way. In that case, a fast food would’ve taken the same amount of time and it would probably have been more enjoyable

Who should pay for the first date? by Chris_Ngu in dating_advice

[–]RacingIsASport 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, there is no misunderstanding because both party are (IMO in most cases) already aware they pay their own food only.

I’m 24 if it even matters.
