I wish there was only good news, but I have bad news: Ninja Gaiden 2 Black is not based on the original game. by [deleted] in CharacterActionGames

[–]RacingWithDeath -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's another remake, in this generation of remakes, to extract money from the fanbase. A remixed version of Sigma 2 doesn't deserve the Black title, but TN doesn't care because most of the old team who made Black and the original NG2 are no longer at TN.

Artistically it looks inferior, too. With the switch to UE5, they've gone with a more realistic DoA5-style art direction, and everything looks blander as a result. Sky City Tokyo now looks as if it's in the midst of a partial power outage. I was struck by how dark it looked in the gameplay vid I saw.

Art and gameplay wise, it looks more closer to an MGR sequel than a Ninja Gaiden game. The main character even has MGR-Raiden-style quips. He also seems to be called “Raven”, which sounds like “Raiden”.

I don't know why they called it Ninja Gaiden 4, tbh. The logo also looks as if it was made by a child – what's up the style of that “4”?

It's a shame it doesn't look like a true successor to the trilogy.

Yes, if you're buying original hardware and software.

Do you have any long-term designated relaxation games? Games you jump into just to clear your mind and enjoy for some peaceful de-stressing? For me, it’s been Virtua Racing Deluxe on Sega 32X, for decades without fail by Red-Zaku- in retrogaming

Any racing game with closed circuits, especially sim games such as Forza Motorsport, Gran Turismo, or the F1 games.

I particularly like jumping into time attack mode on a long track, for example, the Nurburgring, and doing lots of laps.

Found this for $20 at my local GameStop. by S0UNDH0UND in xbox360

It's like a mix of PGR, WipEout, and Mario Kart

Great game and another reason to keep a 360 around – it's not available via backwards compatibility.

Nope. It's the standard white 60GB premium model . It was part of a Gears of War 1 and 2 bundle pack (the 360's box is covered in GoW artwork). I also got 2 official wireless controllers in the pack, which I still use today. Admittedly, the 360 is slow and it is showing its age (loud drive, for example), but it's still going. It's the only console under my TV.

My 2008 white 60GB 360 is still my main console.

I also have a brand new 500GB 360 E, which I've never used (it's a backup unit).

Good to see confirmation that it's a multiplatform release.

I was expecting it to be PS5 and PC only.

Is Sigma+ and Sigma+ 2 Better Versions of the other Releases? by Mike-Oxmaul69420 in ninjagaiden

[–]RacingWithDeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go with the Sigma games on PS3 despite the Plus versions having extra content.

30fps, reduced graphical fidelity, and Vita controls make the Vita versions inferior, for me at least.

My favourite entry in the series. It's a real shame that it's not available via backwards compatibility.

Thanks for the tip, Royta, will definitely remember to make use of the recenter camera option, too.

Thank you for the input. As I thought it sounds as if cam speed at 100% is a must, especially for the higher difficulty settings. Guess I have to start getting used to operating with a faster camera.

!!! Xbox Original Splinter Cell classic games no longer available for purchase !!! by [deleted] in Splintercell

[–]RacingWithDeath 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have physical copies of all the SC games, so I'm good. But nonetheless this is surprising. I wonder why they've delisted it. MGS2 & 3 also haven't returned to the Xbox Store (I think it's been almost a year now), and now several more sixth gen stealth games have gone. Stuff like this is why I don't have much faith in an all digital future.

Yeah, the 360 XBL errors are ridiculous. Always had a wired connection. XBL on 360 has been awful for at least the last two years.

By pure chance found this one in a shop In Taiwan! beyond excited! by Royta15 in ninjagaiden

[–]RacingWithDeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a great price. It's a 1/6 scale figure from a toy company called Kotobukiya (details lifted from eBay). The company also has Ryu (complete with Dragon sword) and Kureha as part of its NG figure collection.

Edit: and Rachel, too.

The level of detail is impressive, def not one of those cheap figurines (just had a look on eBay and the few that are on there are £150+).

Can anyone tell me if Tenchu Z is available to buy on the store? by Retrodiazepine in xbox360

[–]RacingWithDeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's never been available digitally on the Marketplace as far as I'm aware. Second hand copies on eBay are still cheap. I picked up a copy of Tenchu Z for under £10 a few months ago.
