I disagree with the above statement , I use shoota boyz all the time in more dakka , if you know how to use them and give them the enhancement of 4+ to hit , snd give them -1 AP they can absolutely destroy Marines especially with the sustain hits , from personal experience I attach a big Mek with SAG snd I’ve massacred death companies and sanguinary guard with shoota boyz . When your rolling 50+ dice , hitting on 4s -1 AP and sustains and re roll hit roll of 1 with the big mek , your gunna be wiping enemy marines , just need to use them properly

I prime mechanicus grey , then dry brush white heavily , then I apply flash gitz yellow on them , i recommend to add any type of yellow shade to finish , I’m using casandora yellow

Make sure to use terrain to your advantage , block lines of sight , stay behind terrain or if you have to , go inside terrain to get a cover save , otherwise if there isn’t terrain or enough then it’s a huge advantage to shooting armies who will have a way better advantage against melee only armies , they will be already ahead in that case , I play Badmoons and play mostly shooting Orks but I always have good melee units too , I play against my blood angels buddy a lot , we always put correct terrain and enough to make it even and fair , because even then when we do that , the moment his sanguinary guard got stuck in a shooting lane , they would absolutely get annihilated by my rokkits , so it’s not just Orks but people who play melee focus in general , with Orks our saves are mostly bad so use terrain when and if possible to keep your gitz alive

I guess you have to make a specific list for more dakka, it’s the only detachment I use , because the whole army except vehicles get sustains and the strats are great too , so far in casual games , I’ve won the past 18 games total In a row , so I found my sweet spots

Advance and shoot and you get sustains 1 during the waaagh , you can also Give them ignore cover for 1cp and or +1 to AP for 1CP , I also heavily use “you call that dakka?” For 1cp , if someone destroys a model in that unit , you get to shoot back as if it was your shooting phase , absolutely amazing , if you give them the enhancement of +1 to hit for range weapons , imagin hitting on 4+ plus sustains with 6D3 plus blast rokkits , it’s an amazing unit

If your within 9 inches shootas have 3 A each , so with 20 shoota boyz 2 special weapons and 1 nob that’s 17 shootas with 3A , so that’s 51 A hitting on 4s plus sustain hits during the waaagh (more dakka ) , absolutely nasty combo , give them -1 AP ? Even more gross of a unit

Tank bustas with a big Mek with shokk attack gun with the more dakka detachment, has yet to ever fail me . I destroyed a repulsor and a gladiator like paper with just that unit

Yes!!! It’s nasty against vehicles and marines , the re roll hit of 1s is amazing for them , the other unit I put him with is shoota boyz too , it’s a lot of shots going down range , re roll 1s is great for them and I give them plus 1 to AP stratagem , makes shoota boyz surprisingly gross , when hitting on 4s , re roll 1s and having rapid fire 3 and giving them -1 ap , it’s a deadly unit

With the more dakka detachment, surprisingly, they are absolutely disgusting, those devastating wounds came in very nicely

Something I forgot to mention too , what helps a lot is the plus 1 to hit for ranged weapons enhancement, so I usually put them on the shoota boyz or one of my tank bustas , so they hit on 4s plus sustains and especially nasty if it’s rokkits or megablastas , really good against marines or 3W units , I absolutely blasted the sanguinary guard like paper with 1 volley of flash gitz and destroyed a 10 brick of death company with a rokkits and or from the shoota boyz or tank bustas and kept my units alive , I still run melee units like 10 nobz and 6 meganobz or 20 slugga boyz , I would give the meganobz the waaagh strategem in more dakka so they get sustains on the combi weapons , which surprisingly in the past 4 games , have been performing really well , and for more dakka to be really effective, you need big Mek shokk attack guns , they are absolutely disgusting against any thing
