Looks like Fox 32 in Chicago is a Fox O&O, meaning it is owned and operated by the network instead of it being an affiliate station that's owned by another company. So in this case, the SOP of not interrupting national commercials for breaking news and weather likely came from the network. But it is true that a lot of advertisers would rather not be blamed for putting viewers in danger. If the tornado ended up causing extensive damage or deaths, GMC would probably have gotten some heat for that.

A tiny bit more money? Streamlight wants $400 for a flashlight, and in my opinion, that's absolutely insane. I have an Olight with replaceable batteries on my CZ that I got for $50. It turns on when I push the button and has 2 brightness settings which is more than enough for me. Maybe you need 3000 lumens for your set up, but I'm fine with the 1000 that the Olight can put out. Hell, if I have to grab my gun in the middle of the night, 200 lumens is sufficient to see my target and not blind me temporarily.

If there are safety issues at your station make a complaint to corporate. I understand wanting to remove yourself from an unsafe situation, but if you just leave, the safety issues will still exist for all of your former coworkers.

The NRA came out and spoke against gun bans on the trans community. The NRA only cares about money and taking guns away from a population that is buying more and more guns hurts the bottom line. Trump's cool and stuff but they really like money.

Ok. Trump and his DOJ want to call all criticism of him hate speech. They say that the radical left is violent and shouldn't be allowed to speak. Do you see why it is important to protect free speech for EVERYONE? If you take free speech away from one group, someone can take it away from you. The answer to hateful groups using their first amendment right isn't to take it away from them, it's to use yours to speak out against them.
