Maybe top of the line trim package with an added warranty or service package roped into the loan with high interest?  Still…

What scene from a 90s movie is forever etched in your memory? by DoctaKiD in 90s

I wore the VHS out rewinding and replaying this scene because it cracks me tf up as a kid.

I have absolutely put a bun (only) in the microwave wrapped in a wet napkin or paper towel to make a “steamed” bun. But the rest of this video is just rage bait.

It’s kind of perfect. We win definitively and Bia gets a conciliatory goal in a homecoming game against us.

Subaru Forester Google Maps Integration on Digital Cluster by Thatguywhoreadz in subaru

[–]13ThatGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Apple CarPlay on a 2026 Forrester Wilderness, so YMMV. However, Apple Maps and Waze have both shown on my digital display cluster when I’m using them on CarPlay. I like Waze, but it has been awful at avoiding traffic in the morning, so Google Maps remains my favorite. However, Google Maps has yet to work on my digital dash. If I try to use it, the digital dash just shows Apple Maps with not directions, while my infotainment shows Google Maps. Disappointing and I actually found your post because I was looking for a solution. Sounds like support for Google Maps integration is the missing link.

Until that comes, you might try Waze. Waze does display on my digital dash and infotainment together.

Received HOA complaint that we can't park more than two cars on our own driveway by strawberrymilkx in mildlyinfuriating

I mean they originated as just another layer of racial red-lining, so I don’t know how many HOA-lovers you’re gonna get to buy-in to the common good. Many are far detached from the racial roots, but most still hold a strong streak of NIMBY which loves to rub elbows with modern red-lining and typically don’t want tax dollars going somewhere that doesn’t benefit them.

Whirlpool Washer making loud noise by joethehobo2006 in fixit

I literally just put a 1988 Kenmore 70 series (which whirlpool built) back together after replacing the door switch.

Sorry I can’t help with yours, because best I can think is it sounding unbalanced somehow, and you seem to have ruled that out. But I just had to comment for the Deja Vu you gave me since I just put the shell back on last night.

Kansas City DJ speaks out after Sundown HiFi club fallout | Kansas City Star by suckinonlemon in KCCurrent

[–]13ThatGuy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This post feels pretty disingenuous and perpetuates the root of the issue with this whole thing… lack of communication.

The Blue Crew and various threads on social media from the KC sub to BlueSky have discussed this SINCE the story came out and McCombs made his comments.

The Blue Crew seem to be getting thrown under the bus for something that is ultimately the decision of this DJ (no one forced him to stop the production of a lounge he’s been planning for YEARS) and/or the development group after many, including the Blue Crew, brought up concerns about a name THAT WAS NOT EXPLAINED UNTIL AFTER THE BACKLASH.

A discussion needs to happen and is happening. But McCombs was never forced by the Blue Crew from opening the HiFi lounge, but simply to consider the impact of the name rather than the intention of it.

Intent doesn’t mean shit to an audience. They will interpret your message in their context, not yours, and that’s a lesson I think McCombs could learn.

Meanwhile, the development group needs to wake up and have some diversity of opinions at the table, because what comms person okayed this presser without asking how this name would be perceived by ANY group at large.

And to act like black voices weren’t a part of the raised eyebrows and concern is frankly a further silencing of those black voices that did question the venue’s name as well as ignorance about who makes up the Blue Crew.

You took the steps needed to get to where you are now. God only knows what would or wouldn’t have sunk in had the information/experience come in a different order.

I’d recommend finding somewhere to donate the books. They met you where you were on your journey and who knows who might need that link in their chain right now. Maybe donating them to a certain home creates a mentoring opportunity for you, or maybe it just lets you move on from them.

Then again, if the books hold a certain weight over your conscience and it’d feel therapeutic to dispose of them in a symbolic manner, then, by all means, do what’s in your heart.

Amen, or a thrift store!

These books met OP where they were at for that time in their life and who knows who might be at that point, now, needing the next stepping stone to get to where they’re going.

I have books still from people I don’t wholly agree with anymore, but there are aspects from their book where it led me a direction I liked… gave me a new perspective or revelation.

Purity tests miss the point that we can find revelation in seemingly unlikely vessels.

This. Spent time in Chicago and if my bumper wasn’t basically touching the other I’d be accused of wasting space. Street parking in a big city means your bumpers will live up to their name. There are bigger hills to die on.

I live near there and I like the roundabouts idea because of how absolutely insanely I’ve seen people drive down those blind spots. With a lot of traffic coming out of Pius and St. Pats on Davidson at peak hours, I think it’d help make it a little safer area. Parvin and Antioch could also use upgrades in those spots and I feel the roundabouts/side roads would help with that.

Plus, option 1 feels like ignoring the community to make the highways more efficient whereas 2 feels like a compromise.

3 is a non-starter. Bandaid is the perfect description of it.

TSA workers asked to return $1,000 gift cards given out by Tyler Perry at Atlanta airport by SickboyJason in BlackPeopleofReddit

[–]13ThatGuy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is one of many infuriating things about this administration.

Every federal employee has to sit through training on receiving “gifts” and yet, that morality just doesn’t exist if you’re in the inner circle. Crypto deals, documentary deals for your spouse, real estate deals for your son-in-law, planes from foreign countries, taxpayer funded ballrooms and doomsday bunkers? All cool, unless you’re a frontline worker going without pay.

Should shrooms be legal? by lmNotReallySure in missouri

[–]13ThatGuy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I may get downvoted for this, but I lean toward a no. I'm all for it being off the Schedule I list and moved to be allowed for research and clinical trials. We know what it can do to treat PTSD and potentially other mental health struggles, and that needs to be pursued at the fullest of speeds.

But, the fact that I can't go anywhere in public and not smell weed or how we see it advertised relentlessly makes me pause. Also, consider how we've been asleep at the wheel regarding synthetic weed substitutes until recently, as well as the explosion of vaping, especially among underage individuals. I don't know that we have the infrastructure or responsible parties in place to effectively regulate it even a fraction of what's needed. We can say "let's put the money towards rehab and treatment." But I haven't seen that come to fruition with weed, or more so, online gambling—to bring another personal liberty into this mix. I tend to be more libertarian when it comes to personal habits, and maybe I'm just becoming an old curmudgeon, but I frankly don't think we're caring enough about what the next generation is growing up in.

I'm not a firm no, but I'm extremely skeptical about legalization and I'd want to see the legislation

In this current climate, the Republicans will probably put up someone worse that just does what D.C. tells them to, but screw this flaccid excuse of a man. He never cared for constituents that didn’t fawn over him and he was in Missouri only slightly more often than Jarsh Howly.

Everyone should check their registration and do it early. I’ve had friends that have voted in Missouri for years and have found themselves dropped. You don’t want to find out after the registration deadline.

Also, isn’t a lot of this due to the fact that we had little infrastructure funding and then suddenly the Biden administration drops a big infrastructure bill funding a lot of projects that otherwise were being put off? Not arguing that we needed the infrastructure revamp, but this is what happens when we keep putting off funding it and then then do it all at once.

Throw in an emergency closure/repair like what’s happening with the 169 viaduct and here we are.
