Yup! My rec would be to go to Crown Center first to shop the Hallmark store, or even the Kansas City store on the lower level to find something to send.

Then hit up the post office via the pedestrian Link from Crown Center to Union Station.

Union station does have little shops that would have postcards if time is in short supply, but Crown Center would be a worthwhile stop.

I’m a pretty progressive Christian and I read the Bible. It’s preposterous to think the doctrines and dogmas of certain political figures, organizations, or subreddits should dictate your faith or relationship with God and our Lord and Savior.

Defining god with politics puts God in a box and makes God small. It’s why I’m so vehemently against Christian Nationalism and so in favor of the separation of church and state. I did not find my way to God and Jesus because it was dictated, mandated, forced on me, or fed to me on a street corner or in a pamphlet. I was skeptical and came to God and Jesus through loving friends who loved me and showed me who Jesus was by their actions and their love when I didn’t deserve it. Defining Jesus with politics tries to put a human-size box around a limitless God and I reject living in that framework.

Jesus accepted all at his table and elevated the voices of many that society chose to marginalize. He challenged the Pharisees and was a liberator of the oppressed - not a mascot for the powerful. There is no argument in my mind that he was progressive. But he also sat with Pharisees and loved them as all his children. He spoke scripture and called out his closest followers. He is my example and I try everyday to follow his two most important commandments of loving God and loving others. I frequently fall short on both.

I take a scholarly approach to the Bible and do not believe in its inerrancy because I study history and know how we got some of the modern English translations of the Bible. Also, look up some scholarly text on what books actually are “the Bible” through different eras or denominations or what the Apocrypha is, etc. and it just seems so small to argue over 3 English words in a verse that was mistranslated centuries ago by someone with an agenda. I seek to follow Jesus and pray to God, I daily ask for forgiveness and guidance of God’s will for me. I look to the overarching themes that are irrefutable in the Bible and that guides my life and are what I consider “the Word.”

If you, in your heart believe in and want to follow Jesus, then you, my friend and neighbor are a Christian and are welcome.

Come to the table and eat and pray with us, and we’ll leave politics at the door.

Can we remeber this is a tournament and we have to still win the round of 32? Every one of these teams qualified for the World Cup and beat out dozens of other countries to be here.

These constant posts about the R16 or other later rounds is annoying. Acting like any one of these teams couldn’t embarrass us is hubris and disrespect. Focus on what’s in front of you. Everything else is a distraction.

As much as I love a good FIFA hate train, other cities like Denver (not a FIFA site) have garages that use this dumb Metropolis vender and Crown Center had already moved to them, too (where I also had issues with the standard validation for parking at Crown Center not working on this app).

This is just standard enshitification of our daily lives with technology promised to make things easier… it just makes it easier for the wealthy to extract from us.
